Abstract: There is provided an image pickup apparatus comprising an image sensor configured to successively pick up a plurality of images for compositing of a panorama image, a memory configured to store instructions, a monitor, and a processor connected to the memory. The processor executes the instructions to specify a region that is not to be used in compositing of the panorama image in each of the plurality of images, based on a state of an optical system used at a time of pick-up of the plurality of images. The monitor displays the specified region along with an image.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus performs a first detection that detects motion information of an image sensor during a period in which the image sensor captures a first image and a second image based on an output of a sensor different from the image sensor, a second detection that detects a plurality of motion vectors between the first image and the second image, a determination of first reliability of the motion information detected by the first detection and second reliability of the motion vectors detected by the second detection, and an alignment based on either one of the motion vectors or a vector indicated by the motion information, which has higher reliability, or a vector obtained from the motion vectors and the motion information according to the reliability.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus capable of compositing a natural panoramic image from a plurality of images taken by an image pickup apparatus while panning. A clipping unit clips a predetermined area from each of a plurality of images that are continuously photographed while moving the image pickup unit in a predetermined direction. A detection unit detects a positional displacement between adjacent images among a plurality of areas clipped with the clipping unit. A correction unit corrects the positional displacement between the images that is detected with the detection unit according to a predetermined threshold. A compositing unit generates a wide angle image by compositing the images in the plurality of areas of which the positional displacement is corrected with the correction unit in order of photographing.

Abstract: An image pickup apparatus includes: an image pickup element for photoelectrically converting a light from an object; an image pickup optical system for introducing the light from the object into the image pickup element; an auxiliary light emitting device for emitting an auxiliary light to the object; a display device for displaying an image; and a shading estimation device for estimating an occurrence of a shading of the auxiliary light caused by a part of the image pickup optical system. The display device displays a state of the shading thereon on the basis of an estimated result by the shading estimation device.
