  • Patent number: 8017533
Abstract: A steel plate reinforcing sheet includes a restricting layer and a reinforcing layer, the reinforcing layer being formed of foam composition including styrene synthetic rubber, aromatic epoxy resin, and a foaming agent. A total thickness of the restricting layer and reinforcing layer is not more than 3.5 mm, and the steel plate reinforcing sheet is formed to have adhesion at 5° C. to an oiled, cold-rolled steel plate of not less than 2.0N/25 mm and also has bending strength of not less than 18N after being heated at 160° C. for twenty minutes. This ensures both sufficient adhesion to the steel plate and sufficient reinforcement of the same steel plate. Thus, this steel plate reinforcing plate, when adhesively bonded to a steel plate used in a variety of industrial machines properly and then foamed, can provide an effective reinforcement of the steel plate by forming the steel reinforcing plate bonded to the steel plate.
