Abstract: In the heat-sensitive recording material which has on a base sheet a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a colorless or pale colored chromogenic material and a color developer forming a color by reacting with the chromogenic material and a protective layer arbitrarily formed on the recording layer, a water-soluble graft copolymer of a polymer comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid unit and silicone is comprised in the recording layer and/or the protective layer.

Abstract: In the method for the production of a dispersion of colorless chromogenic material useful for the production of a heat-sensitive record material, a colorless chromogenic material and a heat fusible material are admixed together and heated to form a co-melt, the co-melt is dispersed in hot water having a temperature higher than the solidifying point of the co-melt to form an emulsion without causing solidification of the co-melt, and then the emulsion thus obtained is further dispersed in a water having a temperature lower than the solidification point of the co-melt to form a dispersion in which solid particles of the co-melt are dispersed.

Abstract: A heat-sensitive recording material comprised of a heat-sensitive layer on a support is disclosed. The layer comprises a colorless or pale-colored basic dye and a color developing material that, when heated, reacts with the basic dye to form a color. The color developing material is made of a compound having the general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently represent hydrogen or a hydroxyl group.

Abstract: In a heat-sensitive record material comprising a base sheet having a color developing layer which includes finely divided particles of colorless chromogenic material and finely divided particles of acceptor, the colorless chromogenic material exists in the color developing layer in an amorphous state.
