Abstract: A bearing arrangement including a plain bearing consisting of a laminated body of a bearing layer and a backing metal supporting the bearing layer. The backing metal is made of a material whose modulus of elasticity is lowered by cold working (austenitic stainless steel), and the bearing layer and the backing metal are joined to each other by cold rolling. Since a working proportion of the backing metal upon the above-mentioned cold rolling is small in the inside portion held in contact with the bearing layer but is large in the outside portion, the modulus of elasticity of the backing metal is different between the inside portion and the outside portion thereof, and the modulus of elasticity in the outside portion is smaller than the modulus of elasticity in the inside portion. Also, the hardness of the outside portion is higher than the hardness of the inside portion.

Abstract: Imidazole derivatives which were provided as the new compound according to this invention and are represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 denotes a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, R.sub.2 denotes a lower alkyl group, R.sub.3 denotes an alkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group or a higher alkyl group, R.sub.4 denotes a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and X denotes an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom, exhibit excellent antibacterial and antifungal activities against various kinds of microorganisms pathogenic to plants. The new imidazole derivatives according to this invention are useful especially as an agent for disinfecting the seeds.

Abstract: A new imidazole compound is now provided, which is represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is naphthyl group, an arylalkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a cycloalkylalkyl group, an alkyl group, a lower alkenyl group, a lower alkoxy-lower alkyl group or a phenylthio-lower alkyl group or phenyl group or a substituted phenyl group;R.sub.2 is an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl group or an alkenyl group or an alkynyl group, naphthyl group, or an unsubstituted or substituted phenyl group;X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; andY is an unsubstituted or substituted alkylene group or an unsubstituted or substituted alkenylene group. The new imidazole compound and its salt show a usefully high fungicidal activity against a wide variety of fungi which infest crop plants. The new imidazole compound and its salt may be useful as fungicidal agent of agricultural and horticultural usages.
