  • Patent number: 10120206
Abstract: [Problem] The present invention provides eyewear, such as polarized sunglasses, having cholesteric liquid crystal layers, wherein the eyewear has a metallic tone and antiglare properties, minimizes the reduction in light-polarizing element absorptive capability that is associated with circular polarization, and is moreover unaffected by external degrading factors such as sebum, moisture, and salt air. [Solution] This optical film is characterized by being provided with a light-reflecting layer R comprising a cholesteric liquid crystal layer that has right-handed helical orientation, a light-reflecting layer L comprising a cholesteric liquid crystal layer that has left-handed helical orientation, and a polarizing element layer.

  • Patent number: 9718328
Abstract: A control apparatus is applied to a system including an engine and a compressor for air-conditioning, and adjusts an operating point of the engine when the engine is operated. The control apparatus determines whether or not to allow increase in engine output to drive a compressor based on an air-conditioning request, based on the operating point of the engine before driving of the compressor in relation to a predetermined high-efficiency region including a maximum efficiency point in an efficiency characteristics of the engine, when the compressor is driven in response to the air-conditioning request. The control apparatus controls the engine output such that the operating point of the engine is in the high-efficiency region, if the increase in engine output is determined to be allowed.

  • Patent number: 6273704
Abstract: The present invention relates to a casting apparatus for formation of a resin-made membrane which is made to be capable of accomplishing a stable pressure reduction through a suction chamber irrespective of the dimension of an interval between a die and a cooling roll. Thus, in the apparatus according to this invention, a suction chamber is disposed independently of a die and is located to define a necessary seal gap with respect to a cooling roll. Further, a circumferentially moving mechanism is provided to shift the suction chamber along the circumferential directions of the cooling roll while maintaining the necessary seal gap. This invention is applicable, for example, to a biaxial oriented film machine, a non-oriented film machine, a sheet machine, and others.
