Abstract: In an image forming apparatus capable of automatically detecting an abnormality therein, thus interrupting the operation and executing a recovery operation after the abnormal state is released, a starting position of a recovery image formation desired by a user within an object page of recovery is inputted; an address of image data, corresponding to the recovery start position input by way of the input unit is determined; and an image data corresponding to the address of the recovery image data, determined by the address determining unit, is read, and the image formation is re-started after the release of the abnormality. According to the present invention, the mage forming apparatus can achieve a saving in consumables in the recovery operation and output a recovered image with a satisfactory appearance for the user.

Abstract: There is provided with a remote control method using a terminal device connected to a first network and an information processing server connected to a second network, including: setting a tunnel between the terminal device and the information processing server; transmitting a broadcast or multicast packet output from service providing servers on the first network to the information processing server via the tunnel to cause the server to find the service providing servers and services provided by the service providing servers; notifying the terminal device of the services found, from the information processing server via the tunnel or the second network; and if execution request of the service is received by the information processing server from the terminal device via the tunnel or the second network, conducting data communication concerning the service between a service providing server providing the service and the information processing server, via the second network.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an electronic apparatus includes a programmable logic device which loads forming circuit information to form a counter circuit to count a value of the number of times of the system reset and to set an initial value of the counter circuit from a memory device on turning on a power source, counts the value of the number of times of the system reset by the counter circuit for each occurrence of the system reset in a current-carrying state, a processor reads in the value of the number of times of the system reset to be stored in the programmable logic device to determine whether or not the value reaches the predetermined reference number of times, and stops starting processing when the value has reached the reference number of times.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus which is capable of forming an excellent image while suppressing reduction in productivity to a minimum even when an abnormality occurs in detection of an HP mark on an intermediate transfer member. When there occurs abnormality in detection of any of HP marks, an alternate signal is generated in place of a signal associated with a mark the detection of which is determined to be abnormal, and image formation is carried out with reference to the time of normal HP mark detection and the alternate signal.

When the discrimination data is received from another device, the discrimination data is stored as a direct communicatable device for the own device. A direct communicatable device list including the stored discrimination data is generated and sent with the discrimination data of the own device. The source images are composed to generate a composite image defined with respect to a composed coordinate system, and the composed image is sent to a viewer which displays the composed image and outputs an HID signal which indicates information defined with respect to the composed coordinate system. A layout manager stores source IDs respectively associated with layout information including position and size of at least one of the source images. An image composer composes the source images according to the layout information. An analyzer analyzes the HID signal for editing layout information stored in the layout manager, and determines a source ID associated with a source image according to the edited layout information.
