  • Patent number: 6557382
Abstract: An ion removes provided between a feed water valve for supplying water to an outer tub and a detergent supply case and an upper portion from the outer tub includes a cylindrical vessel in which sodium type strong acid positive ion exchange resin is filled up, a salt water vessel provided above the cylindrical vessel, and a salt vessel provided in the salt water vessel for receiving salt to enable plural regeneration of an ion exchange resin. Salt from the salt vessel is dissolved in water supplied to the salt water vessel and salt water having a concentration of about 10% is generated. After completion of every washing feed water cycle and every rinsing feed water cycle with an interval, the salt water is caused to flow into the ion exchange resin and the ion exchange resin is automatically regeneration-processed.

  • Patent number: 5144819
Abstract: A washing machine includes a washing and water-extracting tub, agitating blades disposed rotatably in the tub, a motor for rotating the tub or the agitating blades and a control unit for controlling operation of the motor and determining a quantity of clothes on the basis of a resistance of the clothes exerted on the agitating blades by the rotation of the agitating blades. The washing machine determines the quantity of clothes plural times while a water level is changed from a low water level to a high water level and makes calculation on the basis of the plurality of determination values to determine a kind of clothes or the quality of cloth so that the washing operation is controlled on the basis of the quantity of clothes and the determined quality of cloth.

  • Patent number: 5072473
Abstract: In a full-automated washer, a cloth amount sensor detects a quantity of an object being washed which is thrown into a washing drum as a value inclusive of information regarding a degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed. A processing circuit included in the full-automated washer is responsive to a detection output signal from the cloth amount sensor to determine a water supply amount, a cleanser feed amount, a stirring time and a rinsing time. The cloth amount sensor is mounted to a stirring motor. Upon an OFF-state of the motor, the detection output signal is generated by measuring a voltage waveform induced by inertial motion which varies in accordance the degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed.

  • Patent number: 5042276
Abstract: A fully automatic washing machine comprising a washing/dehydration basket, an agitator rotatably disposed inside the washing/dehydration basket, a motor for rotating the washing/dehydration basket or the agitator, a detector for detecting the amount of wash corresponding to the washing load, a detector for detecting the level of water in the washing/dehydration basket, and a control circuit for controlling operations of washing and dehydration processes. Water-reserved-starting of the dehydration process is effected in such a manner that dehydration is started while leaving a certain quantity of water in the washing/dehydration basket. The amount of cloth is detected by the cloth amount detector before the start of the washing process or at an initial stage of the same, and a value thus detected is stored in the control circuit.

  • Patent number: 4995247
Abstract: A washing machine is disclosed in which water is poured on the washing within a washing and dehydrating tank through a water supply port while turning the washing and dehydrating tank slowly, to thereby cause the water to sink into the washing before the normal washing thereof so as to reduce the bulk of the washing or prevent the floating of the washing. Thus, the regular agitating and washing of the washing are well performed.

  • Patent number: 4955213
Abstract: When an abnormal washing condition occurs during a washing process, an auto-off power source switch is made automatically to present an off condition after a long shelf time such as one hour. In case of the abnormal washing condition of the washing process, since the switch maintains the long shelf time, an operator can notice such an abnormal condition during this long shelf time and then remaining normal washing process can be carried out continuously by getting rid of the abnormal cause. It is therefore unnecessary to re-set the washing process. After the washing process has been finished, the switch is made automatically to present the off condition at a short shelf time such as five minutes. During this short shelf time, it is unnecessary to start the switch at an on condition so as to re-start for carrying out next washing process.

  • Patent number: 4920661
Abstract: A washing/dehydrating machine performing a centrifugal dehydration by rotating a washing/dehydrating tub having a plurality of discharging ports in high speed comprises a plurality of protrusions protruded toward inwardly formed on an inner surface of the washing/dehydrating tub. A total volume of the protrusions is determined in a range of 3% to 6% of capacity of the washing/dehydrating tub. A water saturated region in the wash is reduced by an amount of volume corresponding to the total volume of the protrusions.

  • Patent number: 4791691
Abstract: A clothes washing machine and method wherein a washing liquid is ejected and circulated through a suction pump in a connecting hose from an outer tub, with the recirculated washing liquid being sprinkled all over the clothes through a sprinkling port. An amount of washing liquid to be supplied into the washing tub is set to be about three to eight times larger than that of the clothes to be washed in a weight ratio and washing is performed by carrying out a sprinkling or spraying of the washing liquid on the clothes. By setting an amount of washing liquid supplied to the washing tub to be as small as three to eight times the amount of clothes to be washed in a weight ratio, the clothes are prevented from floating upon the washing liquid and, accordingly, it is possible to promote a friction, expansion, and contraction action of the clothes and to increase a direct frictional effect caused by an agitator of the washing machine.

  • Patent number: 4771615
Abstract: A dehydrating vessel of a washing machine includes a wall formed of non-water absorbing material, and a water absorbing porous material layer attached to an inner periphery of the wall. The water absorbing porous material layer exhibits a capillary action. A plurality of water releasing apertures are formed at the wall and the water absorbing porous material layer. The rate of dehydration achieved in a zone of the dehydrating vessel near the wall of the vessel can be improved, so that the rate of dehydration can be rendered substantially uniform from the wall to the central portion of the vessel without nonuniformity.
