Abstract: A binaural hearing aid system comprises left and right hearing instruments each comprising a BTE-part comprising a housing configured to be located at or behind an outer ear of the user and an acceleration sensor configured to measure acceleration in at least two directions relative to the housing of the BTE-part and to provide acceleration data indicative thereof. A first one of the left and right hearing instruments comprises a transmitter configured to transmit said acceleration data to the other hearing instrument, and the other hearing instrument comprises a receiver for receiving said acceleration data from the first one of the hearing instruments. The other hearing instrument further comprises a controller for detecting whether or not the left and right hearing instruments are correctly mounted in dependence of a similarity measure between said acceleration data provided by the left and right hearing instruments. A method of operating a binaural hearing aid system is further disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220141601
Abstract: A method for picking up body signals from the head of a user comprises a) placing first and second electrodes on first and second different positions at a first side of the user's head in direct or capacitive contact with the user's head, said first side comprising a first eye of the user, the first and second electrodes being configured to pick up first and second electric potentials, respectively, from the user's body, and b) providing an Electrooculography signal representative of a corneo-retinal potential difference of said first eye of the user in dependence of said at first and second electric potentials. The first and second positions may be (substantially) located in a plane including the first eye of the user. A portable electronic device providing an Electrooculography signal, and a hearing device utilizing an Electrooculography signal is further disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11297444
Abstract: The invention concerns a hearing aid system that comprises an ear canal member comprising a sensor arrangement. The sensor arrangement comprises at least one surface electrode located at a surface of said ear canal member to allow said at least one surface electrode to contact the skin of a user when said ear canal member is operationally mounted on the user. The at least one surface electrode (150) is adapted to pick up a low voltage electric signal from the user's skin. The sensor arrangement further comprises a light sensor (180) located at a surface of said housing to allow emitting light through skin proximate to the light sensor (180) and capturing reflected and/or scattered light when said ear canal member is operationally mounted on the user.
