  • Publication number: 20130236855
Abstract: A premade ceramic dental implant abutment includes a ceramic abutment having at the top a support region intended for receiving a mating prosthetic build-up construction with a surface feature to inhibit rotation of said construction, and at the bottom, an implant contact region with geometry to connect to the implant. The ceramic abutment has a passageway extending therethrough. The passageway may narrow to form a shoulder that is made entirely of ceramic. A head of a screw seats entirely on the shoulder. The ceramic abutment has a supragingival region for protruding beyond the gingiva and a subgingival end for extending into the gingiva. The ceramic abutment may be free of metal. Also, the premade ceramic abutment may be designed to be augmented by cementing additional ceramic material such as a ceramic prosthesis onto the ceramic abutment.

  • Publication number: 20110319880
Abstract: An ablation probe having a ground plane is disclosed. The disclosed probe includes an inner conductor coaxially disposed within an outer shield. One or more ground plane(s) oriented substantially transversely to a longitudinal axis of the probe are joined to the outer shield. One or more dielectric(s) may be disposed around the inner conductor or upon a surface of a ground plane. The probe may include a rigid or flexible catheter disposed around the outer shield to define a conduit therebetween to enable the delivery of pressurized fluid to an inflatable balloon disposed around a ground plane. A semicylindrical housing having a circumferential surface and a distal surface may be included. A proximal edge of the circumferential surface of the semicylindrical housing may be joined to a circumferential edge of a ground plane. An opening may be defined in the distal surface of the semicylindrical housing, through which the inner conductor may extend distally.

  • Publication number: 20100303316
Abstract: Taking a digital implant or abutment level digital impression by means of intra-oral, computed tomography or other imaging method provides the restorative doctor and laboratory accurate and effective data for determining the implant position, angulation and locking feature orientation without a physical impression. Such data is correlated with a digital library to produce an output which enables design and fabrication of an accurate restorative device such as a prosthetic tooth or crown. In this way the time-consuming, costly and error prone mechanical replication of the relevant dental anatomy is obviated.
