Abstract: The present disclosure provides assay and method for using assay for streamlined assay preparation and testing. These assay are useful for pathogen (e.g., viral or bacterial) detection. The present disclosure also provides assay assemblies and means to prevent or minimize the formation of bubbles when using puncturing elements in fluidic devices or chambers.

Abstract: An expandable device for attachment to a foldable electronic device having first and second surfaces includes a button and a pivotable frame member. The button has a top side, a bottom side, and a coupling portion and is movable between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. The pivotable frame member is operably coupled to the button and includes a device coupling portion that engages a portion of the foldable electronic device. The pivotable frame member is pivotable between a first configuration whereby the button is positioned along at least one of the first surface or the second surface of the foldable electronic device and a second configuration whereby the button is positioned away from the foldable electronic device.

Abstract: A portable diffused lighting system is disclosed. The lighting system includes a collapsible containment and a light source. The containment includes a perimeter wall, a first end, and a light diffuser, with the first end including the light diffuser, with the containment being disposable in a collapsed configuration and at least one expanded configuration, and with a maximum expanded configuration for the containment providing a maximum spacing of no more than about 4 inches between the light source and the light diffuser. The light source projects within an interior of the collapsible containment, and diffused light is output from the containment through the light diffuser. The lighting system may include a connector for detachably mounting the lighting system to a computer display panel. The lighting system may also include a boom stand, and the noted connector may also detachably mount the containment to the boom stand.

Abstract: A supplemental flash system that may be included in a waterproof, protective case for a camera. The supplemental flash system is designed to illuminate the scene just prior to capturing the image with the camera. The supplemental flash system may be triggered by user actuation of a control on the case, by user actuation of a control on an external trigger, or through an app on a smart phone. Optionally, the case may include a mechanical interface on the bottom surface thereof for connection to a variety of types of mounts. Optionally, the flash system may provide for the ability to change the illumination spectrum. Optionally, the flash system may be controllable to place it into one of a plurality of different types of signaling modes.

Abstract: The disclosed apparatus may include at least one physical extension handle that connects to at least one ejector that facilitates securing a line card to a chassis of a telecommunications system and ejecting the line card from the chassis of the telecommunications system. The physical extension handle may, when connected to the ejector, extend the ejector such that a user is able to access the ejector by way of the physical extension handle to secure the line card to or eject the line card from the chassis of the telecommunications system using the physical extension handle. Additionally or alternatively, the physical extension handle may facilitate physically supporting one or more communication cables connected to the line card in a horizontal orientation such that the communication cables avoid hanging down vertically directly from the chassis. Various other apparatuses and systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device designed to permit various items to be hung on a vertical surface (e.g., the hanging of a picture or other piece of framed art or memorabilia on a wall), to a method of making such a device and to a method of using same. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a two piece device where a first body, or rail, piece and a second body, or rail, piece each engage one of either the object, regardless of whether or not such object is framed or unframed, to be hung or the wall on which the object to be hung is to be placed, wherein the first piece and the second piece are formed so as to engage one another thereby resulting in the hanging of the object on a desired place on a wall. In another embodiment, the present invention relates to a two piece wall hanging device that permits the level hanging of an object on a wall regardless of whether or not each of the two pieces of the device are attached in a level manner to each of the wall and the object to be hung.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing, a band which is provided on side of the housing and has a longer length than a circumference of the housing, and a supporter configured to support the band on the side of the housing to enable the band to slide along the side of the housing. The apparatus may include a detector configured to detect a form of the band; a display configured to display a user interface for operating the communication apparatus and a controller configured to control a display position of the user interface based on the form of the band. The detector may detect pressure applied by the band on the housing, and the controller may estimate the form of the band on the basis of the pressure and to control the display position of the user interface on the basis of the estimation result.
