  • Patent number: 6625625
Abstract: In an information processing system environment including a plurality of client machines and at least a server, backup data is sorted out into a data portion common to respective client machines and a data portion unique to respective client machines, and each data portion is stored separately. Owing to the arrangement mentioned in the above, it is made possible to save the disk space effectively.

  • Patent number: 6360247
Abstract: An information processing system continues communication without affecting the operation of an application when a communication line is disconnected due to a communication error. When the application sends a communication connection request to another system, an MS Manager portion connects the application via a communication line. An MS portion sends a control handle, instead of a communication line handle, to the application. When the application sends data, the MS portion changes the control handle appended to the data to the handle of the actual communication line. When data is received from another system, the MS portion changes the handle of the actual communication line to the control handle and passes the control handle to the application. When the communication line is disconnected due to an error, the MS Manager portion connects the application to the other system via another communication line. The MS portion re-sends data not yet received by the other system if there are any.

  • Patent number: 5491369
Abstract: Method for producing a magnetostrictive torque sensor shaft and a torque sensor shaft made according to the method. Knurl grooves are formed on the surface of shaft base material in oblique relation to the axis thereof, which are then subjected to heat treatment. Subsequently, material having less crystallomagnetic anisotropy and a large magnetostriction constant is deposited by plating, thermal spraying or otherwise at least on the surface of the knurl grooves included in the outer periphery of the shaft base material thereby to form a magnetostrictive layer. Preferably, the magnetostrictive layer is comprised of an FeNi alloy plated layer whose Fe component content is more than 0% but less than 25%. Thus, a sensor shaft is obtained which can be suitably used in constructing a magnetostrictive torque sensor having high performance characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5412998
Abstract: A torque measuring system can detect the magnitude of a torque applied to a torque sensing shaft and output a torque signal with respect to the torque. A torque sensor of the system has a measurement mode for producing torque signals and a correction mode for correction of its detection characteristics. An external signal for selection of one of the two modes is supplied to the torque sensor by a characteristic check device. The correction mode enables the correction of the torque sensor characteristics to be effected accurately and in a short time period without requiring manual labor.

  • Patent number: 5186059
Abstract: A torque sensor shaft for a non-contacting torque sensor including magnetically anisotropic portions formed on the surface of the shaft. Absolute value of angle of inclination of the anisotropic directions of the magnetically anisotropic portions is set lower than 40 degree so as to permit reduction of stress components in the anisotropic directions from their level in the case where the absolute value of the angle is 45 degree. By such angle setting it is possible to prevent possible decrease in sensor sensitivity and, in addition, to obtain good improvement in the point of magnetic saturation due to torque applied, thereby to obtain an improved dynamic range.

  • Patent number: 4556113
Abstract: Cultivating tines, each having opposite cutting edges, are pivotably supported by tine mount members on a tine shaft reversibly rotatable about a horizontal lateral axis. One of the cutting edges of the tine is retainable in a position rearward with respect to the direction of forward rotation, while the other cutting edge is retainable in a position rearward with respect to the direction of reverse rotation. When held in each of these positions, the tine is restrained by resistant force imparting means from being pivotally moved by a centrifugal force. The resistant force to be imparted by this means is smaller than the reaction to be produced when the tine is driven into the soil.

  • Patent number: 3951001
Abstract: This invention relates to a vernier drive mechanism, in which a vernier shaft always being subjected to the elasticity of a coil spring is put into a hollow part of a main shaft in a freely rotatable manner, a housing is put outside the main shaft also in the freely rotatable manner, a part having a hexagonal section or a shape causing the similar effect is made at the center of the main shaft, holes open to the hollow part of the main shaft are made on the three planes placed radially at the same angle of the six peripheral planes, balls are put into the holes and are made to contact with a small diameter part of the vernier shaft and the inner surface of the housing by the elasticity of the spring so as to rotate planetarily by the rotation of the vernier shaft and to turn the main shaft at a speed slower than that of the vernier shaft.
