  • Publication number: 20020033780
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for generating auto sizing and position data on a video monitor in response to a plurality of video signals. Basic parameters are determined based on the video signals; and derived parameters are calculated using a standardized formula from the basic parameters. The basic and derived parameters provide the auto sizing and positioning data.

  • Patent number: 6259483
Abstract: Determining a phase shift compensation for automatically centering an image by measuring a start time delay between a horizontal scan line signal and an active video signal, measuring an end time delay between the active video signal and the horizontal scan line signal, and computing a phase shift for a horizontal flyback signal using the start time delay and the end time delay. A system to center an image on a monitor includes a video processing circuit and a rasterizer. The video processing circuit receives a video signal and measures a start time delay and an end time delay between a horizontal scan line signal and an active video signal. The circuit generates a phase shift used to generate a horizontal flyback signal using the measured start time delay and the end time delay. The rasterizer receives the output of the video processing circuit to control a scanning element.

  • Patent number: 6225762
Abstract: A moiré adjustment circuit receives a horizontal synchronization signal having a horizontal scanning frequency and a moiré adjustment signal substantially proportional to a horizontal spatial offset of alternate display lines on the display to correct the moiré effect. The moiré adjustment circuit generates a horizontal position signal having a first frequency proportional to the horizontal scanning frequency and a position value substantially proportional to the moiré adjustment signal and the horizontal scanning frequency. A horizontal position control circuit, coupled to the moiré adjustment circuit, generates a horizontal reference signal having a second frequency substantially equal to the horizontal scanning frequency and a reference phase that is shifted from a synchronization phase of the horizontal synchronization signal substantially in proportion to the horizontal position signal.

  • Patent number: 6201358
Abstract: A waveform correction system using inductance-controllable inductors suitable for use in the horizontal sweep circuits of televisions and computer displays includes a linearity correction coil (18) that is connected in parallel to the horizontal linearity coil (12) of the sweep circuit and used to selectively alter the inductance of the horizontal linearity coil (12) to correct for non-linearities in the horizontal sweep waveform. The linearity correction coil (18) has an input coil (20) cross-coupled to an output coil (22) through a core (24) with the output coil (22) connected in parallel with the horizontal linearity coil (12). The input coil (20) is connected between a control node (26) and circuit ground.

  • Patent number: 6137243
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for selecting a capacitor value corresponding to a horizontal frequency in a video monitor. The technique determines the horizontal frequency and creates a limit on a default capacitor value which is obtained from the determined horizontal frequency. An updated value is compared with the limit to generate a comparison result. The capacitor value between the default capacitor value and the updated value is selected based on the comparison result.

  • Patent number: 6094018
Abstract: In a display monitor, a horizontal synchronization signal having a horizontal scanning frequency is received by a first circuit. A vertical synchronization signal having a vertical scanning frequency is received by a second circuit. A moire correction signal that is proportional to a horizontal resolution of the displayed image is generated by dividing the horizontal scanning frequency by the vertical scanning frequency.

  • Patent number: 5892544
Abstract: The present invention relates to a beam current control system for detecting and controlling a beam current generated by a cathode ray tube. The system comprises a video processing circuit that receives a first signal, and which generates a second signal that includes a video signal and a synchronization signal, which is provided to the cathode ray tube. The cathode ray tube generates a beam current corresponding to the second signal, where the beam current has a video signal portion and a synchronization signal portion. A storage element coupled between the video processing circuit and the cathode ray tube clamps the second signal at a first predetermined level, and stores an electrical charge corresponding to the video signal portion of the beam current during a first time interval.
