  • Patent number: 9191086
Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor disposed within an enclosure and configured to communicate with multiple wireless devices. A first and a second antenna are disposed within the enclosure. The first antenna is configured to operate within a first band, and the second antenna is configured to operate within a second band. The second band has a center frequency less than a center frequency of the first band. The first antenna is configured to send a signal having a signal strength at a wireless device and associated with the first band, and the second antenna is configured to send a signal having a signal strength at the wireless device and associated with the second band. The signal strength for the signal associated with the first band is greater than the signal strength associated with the second band such that the wireless device selects the first band to communicate with the processor.

  • Patent number: 8804732
Abstract: In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a wireless access point controller configured to receive information associated with a topology of a network including information associated with which access switch from a set of access switches each virtual local area network (VLAN) from a set of VLANs is associated. The wireless access point controller is configured to associate each VLAN from the set of VLANs with a unique tunnel identifier from a set of tunnel identifiers. The wireless access point controller is configured to provide each wireless access point from a set of wireless access points control information including the set of tunnel identifiers such that a wireless access point from the set of wireless access points can send a data packet received from a wireless device to an access switch from the set of access switches associated with a destination VLAN from the set of VLANs using the tunnel identifier associated with the destination VLAN.

  • Publication number: 20130162499
Abstract: An apparatus includes a processor disposed within an enclosure and configured to connect one or more wireless devices to a network. A first antenna has an orientation of polarization and is disposed within the enclosure. A second antenna has an orientation of polarization and is disposed within the enclosure at a non-zero distance from first antenna. A third antenna has an orientation of polarization and is disposed within the enclosure at a non-zero distance from each of the first antenna and the second antenna. The orientation of polarization of the first antenna is different from the orientation of polarization of the second antenna, and the orientation of polarization of the third antenna is different from the orientation of polarization of the first antenna and the orientation of polarization of the second antenna.

  • Patent number: 6980550
Abstract: A method for forwarding data packets to one of a plurality of servers comprising receiving a data packet from a source, at a data packet forwarding device having a plurality of ports, performing a hashing function using a unique component of the data packet as a seed value for the hash, generating a hash value using the hashing function, looking up a table for an address of one of the plurality of servers using the hashed value as an index to the table, and forwarding the data packet to a server corresponding to the address.
