  • Patent number: 11178270
Abstract: A mobile communication device is equipped with a dynamic local directory into which contact information from a local telephone directory may be downloaded on a temporary basis. The local telephone directory resides on a local communication network and may be accessed by the mobile communication device. The downloaded data is purged automatically after preset limits are reached. The dynamic local telephone directory on the mobile communication device is continuously changing depending on the location.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 2016
Date of Patent: November 16, 2021
Assignee: Conversant Wireless Licensing S.à r.l.

  • Patent number: 8838775
Abstract: A control mechanism for a packet data system is disclosed. The control mechanism includes a control entity configured to detect a defined period of inactivity on a packet data context for carrying packet data. A procedure for releasing resources associated with the packet data context are triggered in response to detection of the defined period of inactivity.

  • Publication number: 20090323574
Abstract: A system and method for providing efficient control transmission for single frequency network-based broadcasting and/or multicasting. Various parameters that are needed to decode local single frequency network transmissions are signaled in a channel that is separate from the overlay single frequency network control channel. In various embodiments, this channel is transmitted at the level of a local single frequency network or at an individual cell level. This allows this channel to provide, at any given geographical location, the parameters that are used in the transmission of the particular local single frequency networks in that location.

  • Publication number: 20080037572
Abstract: Provided are apparatuses and methods for determining a logical channel for transmission of a data packet in a network. A logical channel may provide a corresponding Quality of Service (QoS). Data traffic may be identified based on class of service (CoS) and each CoS may be handled through a default QoS configuration, for example. A logical channel may be associated with or preconfigured with a designated default QoS configuration such that transmission of data on the logical channel may be available without prior QoS negotiation or setup signaling. In one example, the selection of the logical channel may be based on a Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) marked in the data packet.

  • Patent number: 7116700
Abstract: A method of operating a spread spectrum radio communication system comprising a central node and a dependent node which communicate over a frequency hopping channel. The dependent node compiles interference information for the channel and, at intervals, transmits the interference information to the central node. The central node, based on the interference information received from the dependent node, creates a black list of worse-performing frequency bands in the channel.
