  • Patent number: 9218298
Abstract: When an SD card is connected to an SD socket of an electronic device, a control unit of the SD card obtains permission/inhibition information (an output signal) outputted from a setting unit of the electronic device. Based on the obtained permission/inhibition information, the control unit starts the operation of a DC-DC converter corresponding to a memory unit from which reading-out of data is permitted. By virtue of this, reading-out of data from the memory unit is achieved in correspondence to the permission/inhibition information.

  • Patent number: 9047447
Abstract: When a connection device is connected to an SD socket of an electronic device, a process setting unit of the electronic device obtains permission/inhibition information (an output signal) set forth in a permission/inhibition information setting unit of the connection device. Based on the obtained permission/inhibition information, the process setting unit identifies an execution unit whose operation is to be activated among the execution units provided in the electronic device. Then, the process setting unit instructs the identified execution unit to start operation. This realizes operation of execution units in correspondence to the permission/inhibition information.

  • Publication number: 20150033190
Abstract: A display controller which is carried out as an image switching apparatus switches images output from a multifunction peripheral and an expansion apparatus which are a plurality of electronic devices having different OSes to display on a display portion. A display control portion controls the display portion to display a home screen showing at once icons for running an application which operates in the multifunction peripheral or the expansion apparatus. A judging portion inputs operation information showing the fact that a specific icon is selected from the home screen displayed on the display portion and judges the selected icon. The display control portion controls the display portion to display an image from an electronic device in which an application corresponding to the selected icon operates according to judgment result by the judging portion.

  • Patent number: 8930658
Abstract: In electronic equipment 1, a limitation level on reading data from a USB flash drive (storage device) 2 is set to a setting section 3 in advance. The USB flash drive 2 ascertains the setting at the setting section 3 when connected to the electronic equipment 1 and limits reading data based on the determined setting. If the limitation level does not match with the condition for permitting data read-out as determined in USB flash drive 2, the USB flash drive 2 prohibits the electronic equipment 1 from reading out data. By executing the processing for limiting data read-out at the side of the USB flash drive 2, unauthorized leakage of data can easily be prevented.

  • Patent number: RE48497
Abstract: In electronic equipment device 1, a limitation level on reading an access level to selectively control the ability to read data from a USB flash drive (storage device) 2 is set to a setting section by an access level setting unit 3 in advance. The USB flash drive 2 ascertains the setting at the setting section 3 access level when the USB flash drive is connected to the electronic equipment 1 and limits reading data based on the determined setting device. If the limitation access level does not match with the condition for permitting data read-out as determined in USB flash drive 2 permit the reading of data, the USB flash drive 2 prohibits the electronic equipment 1 device from reading out data from a memory 24 of the USB flash drive by removing an application of power from the external device to the memory. By executing the processing for limiting data read-out at the side of the USB flash drive 2, unauthorized leakage of data can easily be prevented.
