  • Patent number: 6589456
Abstract: An mold thickness adjustable range S of a link housing included in a toggle type clamping unit for a thick mold of the greatest allowable thickness and that of the same for a thin mold of the smallest allowable thickness is divided into a plurality of sections. Extra elongations by which tie bars included in the toggle type mold clamping system are to be stretched for desired mold clamping forces are determined beforehand and are assigned to the sections of the mold thickness adjustable range S. One of the sections in which the link housing is positioned when the toggle type mold clamping system is set in a lock-up state in which a movable half mold is in contact with a fixed half mold is specified by a combination of binary signals provided by switches.

  • Publication number: 20030124210
Abstract: An injection machine of a hierarchical structure type according to the present invention includes a rest having a plurality of floors, a first injection molder mounted on a first floor of the rest, and a second injection molder mounted on a second floor of the rest. The first injection molder and the second injection molder are controlled by an integrated control board. A set display device is provided which is capable of transmitting data of the first and second injection molders between the set display device and the integrated control board in order to set or display the data.

  • Publication number: 20030059493
Abstract: A direct type clamping assembly for a motorized injection molding machine to maintain a clamping force for a predetermined time without causing motor stalling is disclosed. A stationary platen and back plate are fixedly attached to a base, and a movable platen is slidingly associated with the base. A housing is disposed in front of the back plate with coil springs disposed between the housing and the back plate. A nut of a ball-screw assembly is rotatably accommodated in the housing with a bearing. When the ball-screw assembly is rotatably driven, the movable platen moves forward, stopping when a mold is completely joined together. The housing can accordingly move backward as the ball-screw assembly is further rotatably driven, compressing the coil springs and generating and maintaining the clamping force. Slight rotation of the motor prevents motor stalling, and the resulting slight movement of the housing scarcely influences the clamping force.

  • Publication number: 20020176908
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an electric direct-acting die clamping unit of an injection molding machine whose entire length can be reduced. A movable platen is arranged to face a stationary platen. A stationary die is attached to the stationary platen, whereas a movable die is attached to the movable platen. The movable platen is connected to the front of the backup plate. A nut of a ball screw is fixed at each of diagonally-opposed corners of the backup plate. The threaded rod of the ball screw passes through the backup plate via the nut. The tip portion of the threaded rod is rotatably connected to the stationary platen. The rear end portion of the threaded rod is threaded through a support plate via the bearing and connected to a motor.
