  • Publication number: 20230150501
Abstract: The posture of the driver is detected from the driver head portion, and the detected value and the driver mounting determination value are used to determine that the driver is pushing the vehicle and obtain the vehicle pushing command value. Converts the vehicle pushing command value to the target vehicle pushing assistance vesicle speed, determines whether vehicle pushing assistance can be performed based on the driver's posture and the vehicle condition, and outputs the vehicle pushing assistance permission determination. Then, from the target vehicle pushing assistance vehicle speed and the vehicle pushing assistance permission determination, the control amount for the vehicle power source that assists the vehicle pushing is calculated and output.

  • Patent number: 6484692
Abstract: An ignition control system is provided, which includes: an engine speed detector (101) for calculating an engine speed according to an engine crank angle signal (100); a current supply start controller (102) for outputting a proper current supply start timing signal corresponding to the engine speed to an ignition coil (5); a current supply finish controller (103) for outputting a proper current supply timing signal corresponding to the engine speed to an ignition coil; an ignition coil controller (104) for controlling supply of power to the ignition coil (5) according to the current supply start timing signal and the current supply finish timing signal; and an overspeed determination device (105) for outputting an overspeed determination signal when determining that the engine speed is in excess of a predetermined limit value. The overspeed determination signal prohibits starting the supply of current, and retards the current supply finish timing to such a degree as to decrease engine torque.

  • Patent number: 5617085
Abstract: A camera and a beam-scan type laser radar whose optical axes are coincident are mounted on a vehicle. A lane detector detects the vehicle's own lane on a display image by processing an image picked up by the camera. A coordinate transforming device transforms the coordinates of positional information of an object, most likely a vehicle, detected by the laser radar in conformity with coordinates on the image of the camera. Another detector compares a position of the vehicle's own lane with a position of the detected object, judges whether or not the detected object is within the vehicle's own lane, and separates the detected object within the vehicle's own lane from objects detected outside the vehicle's own lane. A failure detection method and a corresponding apparatus are provided to determine whether the optical axes of the camera and the laser radar are coincident.

  • Patent number: 5303019
Abstract: An inter-vehicle distance measuring device which can automatically set a tracing window for tracing an image of a fore-running vehicle to be measured for distance. A window setting unit sets plural numbers of windows at given locations on one of the images. An estimate member calculates a distance up to objects caught by those windows, detects the symmetry of the image, and estimates presence of a fore-running vehicle and its position on one of images, and the detected distance data as well. A tracing window is automatically set at the position.

  • Patent number: 5257022
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for following a vehicle are disclosed by which the distance from a vehicle to a preceding target vehicle running ahead thereof can be exactly measured and, based on the thus measured distance, an appropriate vehicle following window can be automatically set with respect to a target image of the preceding vehicle at the start of vehicle following. Images of objects including the preceding vehicle are taken from two different points. The distance to the preceding vehicle is measured based on the images thus taken from the two points. On the basis of the measured distance, the size of an image-following window to be set within an image area displayed on a screen of a display is determined for following the preceding vehicle. The image of the preceding vehicle is found among various images of objects in the image area on the screen, and the position of the window on the screen is properly set and then temporarily stored in a memory.

  • Patent number: 5237406
Abstract: An inter-car distance detecting device of the invention includes an: image sensor for picking up the image of a car ahead through a pair of optical systems arranged substantially vertically; a display for displaying the image of the car ahead; a first window surrounding the image of the car ahead; an image tracker for tracking the image of the car ahead with the first window; a second window set in the first window; first and second distance detectors for calculating the distances from the objects held in the first and second windows, respectively; and a window position corrector for correcting the position of the first window according to the distances calculated by those distance detectors. The driver can thus readily detect the distance between his car and the car ahead. Even if the window is shifted from the image of the car ahead for instance when his car bounds, the image of the car ahead can be stably tracked. In addition, the position of the window can be corrected with high accuracy.
