  • Patent number: 4961261
Abstract: A roll for a mill includes a roll shaft of a circular cross-section having an axis of rotation therethrough and having an outer peripheral surface. A ring of a wear-resistant material having an outer peripheral surface adapted to engage with a metal material to be rolled is disposed around the roll shaft. A tubular sleeve having an inner peripheral surface is disposed between the roll shaft and the ring with the inner peripheral surface mated with the outer peripheral surface of the roll shaft. A layer of adhesive is interposed between the ring and the sleeve for adhesively securing the ring and the sleeve together. The adhesive layer is compressed by the ring and the sleeve so as to be brought into frictional engagement therewith.

  • Patent number: 4817410
Abstract: A roll for a mill includes a roll shaft having a tapered portion disposed intermediate opposite ends thereof. The tapered portion has an outer peripheral surface tapering axially of the roll shaft. A ring of a wear-resistant material is disposed around the tapered portion of the roll shaft. A tubular sleeve having an inner peripheral surface tapering axially thereof is press-fitted between the tapered portion of the roll shaft and the ring to retain the ring in place on the roll shaft for rotation therewith. The sleeve includes an inner groove formed in the inner peripheral surface thereof and a passageway formed therethrough. The passageway is communicated with the inner groove so that pressurized oil is supplied through the passageway into the inner groove.

  • Patent number: 4436006
Abstract: A cutting method comprising using a main body in the form of a circular disk and a hard layer provided on one surface of the main body and having a thickness of 0.02 to 0.2 mm. The hard layer is made of cemented carbides, TiC TaC, Cr.sub.2 C.sub.3, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 or the like, while the main body is made of a material, such as steel, non-ferrous metal or plastics, which is lower than the hard layer in abrasion resistance. The hard layer is formed along its outer periphery with a cutting edge which is self-sharpened when chipped.

  • Patent number: 4196324
Abstract: A rotary switch which is provided with circuit or terminal member molded in an electrically insulating base plate and extending out from through-holes formed in the base plate, with the ends of the terminal member being formed into protrusions or stationary contacts for direct contact with the movable electrode of a rotor member of the rotary switch so as to make it possible to provide various contact circuit constructions, and also to prevent occurrence of poor contact and generation of static electricity. The rotary switch of the present invention is further provided with an improved detent mechanism for a rotary shaft to achieve smooth rotation and accurate functioning of the rotary switch during operation.
