    Abstract: A method and an apparatus capable of measuring the density of steam within a steam pipe even in limited environmental conditions such as in a steam injection well. A vessel which accommodates therein first and second neutron detectors disposed in mutual longitudinal alignment with a neutron source interposed therebetween and in which the second detector is covered with a neutron shield capable of absorbing thermal neutrons while allowing epithermal neutrons to penetrate therethrough is inserted into the steam pipe together with a thermal neutron shielding sheet completely encircling the vessel. From the neutrons which were emitted from the neutron source and passed out and back through the neutron shield and the steam region, those epithermal neutrons which have not undergone transformation to thermal neutrons within the steam region are detected by both the first and second detectors, while the thermal neutrons resulting from the transformation are detected by the first detector only.

    Abstract: An electron gun for a color picture tube has beam generators for generating three electron beams and directing them toward the fluorescent screen along three paths which are parallel with each other on the same plane, and at least one pair of electrode surfaces each having three apertures centered with the three paths for forming independent main lenses so as to focus the electron beams on the fluorescent screen, the electrode surfaces being spaced apart from each other. Provided for the electrode surface are cylindrical shield members centered with the apertures and extending from the apertures in opposition to the opposing electrode surface. Outer ones of the cylindrical shield members have each an end surface inclined with respect to the center axis of the aperture so as to form inclined electric fields effective to converge the outer beams to one point to which the central beam converges.

    Abstract: A press machine is disclosed which is provided with a plurality of press dies fixedly secured on a bolster. The machine has a vertically reciprocable frame member with a predetermined constant stroke, which carries a plurality of pressure plates cooperating with the die, respectively. Each pressure plate is axially movable with respect to the frame member and threadedly connected with a spacer plate arranged between the frame member and the pressure plate. The shut height of the machine can be individually adjusted for each pressure plate, by rotating the spacer plate relative to the pressure plate. The shut height can be optimized very easily and in short a time so that the productivity can considerably be improved.

    Abstract: A fish meat product similar in taste and texture to shrimp which contains from about 15 to about 45 parts by weight of wavy fish gel fibers, from about 15 to about 50 parts by weight of linear fish gel fibers, and from about 30 to about 55 parts by weight of a fish paste binder is disclosed. The wavy fibers range from about 1.0 to about 4.0 mm in diameter, and the linear fibers range from about 0.3 to about 3.0 mm in thickness on each side. The fish gel from which the fibers are made is prepared from surimi by the use of a process which is very similar to that employed in preparing "Kamaboko," and an intermediate product in this process is a fish paste which is used as the binder. The foregoing components are mixed in the foregoing ratio. The resultant mixture is formed into the shape of peeled shrimp, coated on the surface with an appropriate coloring agent, and heated.

This process prevents the formation of color development fog without seriously reducing sensitivity.

    Abstract: A mop carrier is provided for mounting a mop and/or a brush to a mop handle. The mop carrier includes an elongated, continuous resilient blade having a first portion which extends downward at an acute angle, a second portion which curves around on itself and a third, straight portion which is horizontal and longer than the first portion. An upwardly open hollow cylindrical boss and connector are provided on the first portion near its outer end for mounting the mop carrier to the lower end of a mop handle. A hook is provided on the outside of the second portion for detachably retaining the loop of a mop that is sleeved on the third portion. And a set of flanges is provided on the third portion to permit a brush to be slidingly mounted on the third portion.
