  • Patent number: 7774593
Abstract: An encrypted packet processing device capable of realizing a predetermined classification process according to a data type while reducing the burden on a processing device in a communication environment in which encrypted packets of different data types exist. A block specifying section specifies a location, in which information necessary for a priority level determination process by a priority level determination section is stored, in an encrypted packet. A specified block decryption section decrypts only a block specified by the block specifying section, and extracts the information necessary for the priority level determination process. The priority level determination section searches a priority level information database using the information extracted by the specified block decryption section as a key, and determines a priority level of the packet.

  • Publication number: 20060067231
Abstract: The packet reception control device includes: a load detection section for detecting a load on a processor and outputting the detection result; and a reception control section for determining whether or not the processor should receive a reception packet based on the detection result output from the load detection section and outputting the determination result. The processor receives the reception packet according to the determination result output from the reception control section.

  • Patent number: 7010720
Abstract: A reception apparatus records a content distributed from a content distribution apparatus on a hard disk. Following an instruction from a viewer, the reception apparatus reproduces the content. The reception apparatus transmits management information including identification information about the content recorded on the hard disk to a management apparatus. The management apparatus stores the information in a management information storage. When the hard disk of the reception apparatus fails, a replacement hard disk is attached to the management apparatus. The management apparatus retrieves, based on the stored management information, the same content as the content recorded on the hard disk of the reception apparatus from a content distribution apparatus, etc., and records the retrieved content on the replacement hard disk. The hard disk of the reception apparatus is then replaced with the replacement hard disk with the content recorded thereon.

  • Publication number: 20040215955
Abstract: An encrypted packet processing device capable of realizing a predetermined classification process according to a data type while reducing the burden on a processing device in a communication environment in which encrypted packets of different data types exist. A block specifying section 13 specifies a location, in which information necessary for a priority level determination process by a priority level determination section 161 is stored, in an encrypted packet. A specified block decryption section 14 decrypts only a block specified by the block specifying section 13, and extracts the information necessary for the priority level determination process. The priority level determination section 161 searches a priority level information DB 162 using the information extracted by the specified block decryption section 14 as a key, and determines a priority level of the packet.

  • Publication number: 20020133741
Abstract: A reception apparatus 11 records a content distributed from a content distribution apparatus 1 on a hard disk 81. Following an instruction from a viewer, the reception apparatus 11 reproduces the content. The reception apparatus 11 transmits management information including identification information about the content recorded on the hard disk 81 to a management apparatus 21. The management apparatus 21 stores the information in a management information storage 50. When the hard disk 81 fails, a replacement hard disk 82 is attached to the management apparatus 21. The management apparatus 21 retrieves, based on the stored management information, the same content as the content recorded on the hard disk 81 from a content distribution apparatus 1, etc., and records the retrieved content on the replacement hard disk 82. The hard disk 81 is then replaced with the hard disk 82 with the content recorded thereon.
