  • Patent number: 8920169
Abstract: A mouth opening instrument includes an upper member suitable for attaching on an upper jaw side within the mouth of a patient and a lower member suitable for attaching on a lower jaw side. The instrument further includes a connecting section, a control section, and an input section. The connecting section connects end portions of the upper member and the lower member such that a resistance of opening or closing actions of the upper member and the lower member are controllable. The control section controls the resistance of opening or closing actions of the upper member and the lower member. The input section receives an operating state signal indicating an operating state of a dental treatment device. When the operating state signal indicating an operating state of a dental treatment device is inputted, the closing resistance of the upper member and the lower member is set to be greater than that at a time when the operating state signal is not inputted.

  • Patent number: 8870782
Abstract: In a pulse wave analyzer, an ECG signal and a pulse wave signal are detected from an object to be analyzed. A plurality of feature points are extracting from the acquired ECG signal, the feature points appearing in a waveform of the ECG signal. The acquired pulse wave signal is segmented into a plurality of pulse wave signal pieces based on times at which the feature points appear. Each of the pulse wave signal pieces is segmented every heart beat. A reference pulse wave is calculated based on the plurality of pulse wave signal pieces, by multiplying the pulse wave signal pieces by coefficients and averaging the pulse wave signal pieces multiplied by the coefficients. The reference pulse wave is used to estimate the blood pressure of the object.

  • Publication number: 20130316298
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for supporting dental implantation surgery, a three-dimensional CT image of jaws of an object is acquired. A reference site of the jaws and an implantation position of a gum in the jaws are set in the three-dimensional CT image. The implant is implanted at the implantation position. A three-dimensional optical image of an inside of an oral cavity of the object is then produced. The reference site is positionally set in the three-dimensional optical image through recognition of a shape of the reference site in the three-dimensional optical image. A surgical tool is positionally controlled to the implantation position in the oral cavity, based on i) a relationship between the position of the reference site and the implantation position of the gum in the three-dimensional CT image and ii) the position of the reference site in the three-dimensional optical image.

  • Patent number: 7397382
Abstract: A drowsiness detecting apparatus has a pulse wave sensor and a determination circuit. The sensor is provided to a steering wheel to detect a pulse wave of a vehicle driver gripping the steering wheel. The determination circuit generates a thorax pressure signal indicative of the depth of breathing by envelope-detecting a pulse wave signal of the sensor and determines whether the driver is drowsy by comparing a pattern of the thorax pressure signal with a reference pattern. The display and the buzzer notify the driver and any other passengers in the vehicle of the drowsiness of the driver by a visual indication and buzzing sound, respectively. A body surface motion may be used as a signal that indicates the depth of breathing.

  • Publication number: 20060283652
Abstract: Pressure sensors are sorted out from the other sensors based on a signal from each sensor element. Sensor outputs of the pressure sensors that have been sorted out are filtered using an FIR filter through which sensor outputs of the other sensors are eliminated. Frequency analysis is performed on the filtered sensor outputs using FFT. A reference sensor is chosen from power spectra of the filtered pressure sensors. Phase differences are calculated between a sensor output of the reference sensor and the sensor outputs of the other pressure sensors. Based on the phase differences, pressure sensors other than the reference sensor are sorted into those with large phase differences and those with small phase differences. Phases of sensor signals of those with large phase differences are reversed, and their sensor outputs are added together. For those with small phase differences, their sensor outputs are added together without reversing the phases.

  • Patent number: 6799954
Abstract: A tappet turning prevention structure for a fuel supply apparatus includes a piston defining a fuel pressurizing chamber within the housing. A tappet disposed at one end of the piston has accommodated in it a roller driven by a cam of an engine and a roller supporting pin for transmitting a force from the cam to the piston. The tappet is housed by a bracket which has one or two grooves in an inner surface of it for supporting the roller supporting pin at one or both ends. The number of parts can be decreased because the turning prevention pin for the tappet and the roller supporting pin is a single common pin, and therefore the need of controlling of the press-fit loads is eliminated because no process for thrusting the tappet turning prevention pin into the outer circumference of the tappet is involved.

  • Patent number: 6048180
Abstract: A high-pressure fuel supply pump with high performance is capable of securely preventing a cylinder section from seizing up and also permits improved sealing performance to minimize the chance of fuel leakage. The high-pressure fuel supply pump has: a casing (48) having a cylindrical cavity (48a); a sleeve (40) which has a cylinder section (40a) and a fixing section (40c), one end thereof closer to the fixing section (40c) being abutted against the bottom of the cavity (48a); and a piston (53) which is disposed in the cylinder section (40a). The high-pressure fuel supply pump takes in fuel through an intake passage (36) by the reciprocation of the piston (53) into a fuel pressurizing chamber (52) to pressurize it, then discharges the pressurized fuel through a discharge passage (37) to forcibly feed it into a fuel injector of a cylinder injection engine.
