  • Publication number: 20040119687
Abstract: An inputting device, in which a moving control command to a subject to be controlled is formed on a display in an arbitrary direction and the waterproof and the dustproof are provided and whose structure does not have a part sticking out of the surface of the cabinet or has the part sticking out of the surface of the cabinet as small as possible even if it has the sticking out part and whose structure is also simple, is provided. In this, a plane being about parallel to the front surface of the cabinet is defined as an XY plane in an XY orthogonal coordinate system. The inputting device is disposed in an opening part of a cabinet.

  • Publication number: 20030067270
Abstract: A high pressure discharge lamp includes a quartz glass bulb, a conductive element which is sealed at a sealing portion of the bulb, and a pair of electrodes. Each electrode is disposed in the quartz glass bulb so as to be opposite the other and connected to the conductive element. A part of each electrode is sealed with the quartz glass bulb at the sealing portion so as to generate a contacting portion formed by the part of each electrode and the bulb. The maximum length, Lmax, of the contacting portion is defined as: Lmax(mm)≦/200/(P×D); and the minimum length, Lmin, of the contacting portion is defined as: Lmin(mm)≧0.8/(D2×&pgr;) or Lmin(mm)≧0.7 whichever is longer, where D is the diameter (mm) of the electrode and P is the power (W) supplied to the electrode.

  • Publication number: 20030025669
Abstract: An inputting device, an electronic instrument using this inputting device, and an inputting method thereof, in which displacement of an operating section in the direction slanting for the X or the Y direction is detected and the movement of a moving object such as a cursor on a display can be controlled easily and precisely, are provided. The operating section is displaced about in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction for a plane being almost parallel to the surface of a cabinet. In case that orthogonal coordinates having the X axis and the Y axis are set on the plane being almost parallel to the surface of the cabinet, horizontal direction sensors detect the displacement of the operating section in the direction slanting for the X or Y direction, in addition to in the X or Y direction. The cursor moves on the display based on the displacement of the operating section about in the horizontal direction.
