  • Patent number: 6114776
Abstract: A vehicle-equipment control apparatus comprises a plurality of types of control instruction units respectively having different switch functions and incorporating different diode-connected circuits therein, unit mounting portions to which the plurality of types of control instruction units are mountable, and a control instruction unit determinator which, when any of the plurality of types of control instruction units is fit to the unit mounting portions, determines the type of the fit control instruction unit based on the output of each built-in diode-connected circuit. In this case, the diode-connected circuit is made up of two or more diodes or comprised of two or more diodes and one resistor.

  • Patent number: 5990571
Abstract: An automobile-installed-apparatus controller includes: a plurality of types of control-designation units having different switching functions and built-in discrimination devices with different circuit constants; unit mounts on which the plurality of types of control-designation units are capable of being mounted; and a control-designation-unit determiner in which when any one of the plurality of types of control-designation units is mounted on the unit mount, a value dependent on the circuit constant of the built-in discrimination device is detected, and the type of the mounted control-designation unit is determined based on the detected result.

  • Patent number: 5974466
Abstract: There is provided an ATM controller which can support setting or alteration of protocol processing, and more greatly reduce the load (overhead) of software processing. The ATM controller performs the processing of an ATM layer and an AAL layer between a terminal and an ATM network, and comprises cell transmit control moans for transferring a packet from a terminal side to an ATM network side while segmenting the packet into data cells, cell reception control means for reassembling data cells received from the ATM network side into a packet and transferring the packet to the terminal side, a rewritable memory for storing a firmware, and a microprocessor for performing a cell analysis and the processing corresponding to the analysis result.

  • Patent number: 5819597
Abstract: A rotation detecting device which issues a plurality of code signals by a simple configuration so as to detect the rotational angle position and the direction of rotation of a rotor according to the code signals. The rotation detecting device has a knob member which is rotatably attached to a part of an enclosure, a plurality of projections which are formed on the periphery of one end of the knob member, and two detection switches which selectively engage with the projections to turn ON/OFF and issue signals. These detection switches are disposed on a printed circuit board in such a manner that they turn ON/OFF at different timings as the knob member rotates. Thus, the rotational position and the direction of rotation of the knob member are detected by the combinations of the ON/OFF signals of the detection switches.

  • Patent number: 5056058
Abstract: A protocol high-speed processing method to be used in a first communication control equipment for communications with a second communication equipment connected through a transmission line in accordance with a predetermined communication protocol. The communication control equipment predicts the type of communication frame to be received next from the communication line, in accordance with type of communication frame previously transmitted to or received from said transmission line, and prepares information necessary for a process of receiving said predicted communication frame and information of a part of the communication frame to be transmitted subsequent to the receiving process, to await the reception of a next communication frame. As a result, the receiving process time and the response process time can be reduced when the actually received communication frame is consistent with the predicted one.
