Abstract: The invention provides a liquid crystal display device which includes a transparent substrate; transparent pixel electrodes arranged in the form of a matrix on the transparent substrate; active elements for switching the pixel electrodes, the active element provided to each of said pixel electrodes and having a laminated structure; and bus line provided among the pixel electrodes. The bus line includes a transparent conductive layer provided on the transparent substrate; a first wiring layer superimposed on the transparent conductive layer; and a second wiring layer superimposed on the first wiring layer. The second wiring layer has a branch portion which is extended from a position on the first wiring layer onto the transparent substrate, and the branch portion used as an electrode on the transparent substrate side in the laminated structure of the active element.
