  • Patent number: 11136853
Abstract: An inflatable packer system for an annular blowout preventer (BOP) includes an inflatable bladder configured to be positioned within a housing of the annular BOP and to inflate upon receipt of a fluid within the inflatable bladder. The inflatable bladder may be an annular structure that is configured to circumferentially surround a bore of the annular BOP.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 2019
Date of Patent: October 5, 2021
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation
Inventors: Ray Zonoz, Steven Shimonek, Nicolas Arteaga, Bruce Boulanger, Taylor Mozisek, Jeffrey Lambert, Ian McDaniel

  • Publication number: 20210172277
Abstract: A system for an annular blowout preventer (BOP) includes a piston, a packer assembly, and a connector assembly. The connector assembly includes a linkage, wherein a first end portion of the linkage is configured to contact and couple to the piston and a second end portion of the linkage is configured to contact and couple to the packer assembly.

  • Publication number: 20210156215
Abstract: A blowout preventer (BOP) includes a ram supported within a cavity that is positioned crosswise to a central bore of the BOP. The ram is configured to move within the cavity between an open position in which the ram is withdrawn from the central bore and a closed position in which the ram is positioned within the central bore to thereby block a fluid flow through the central bore. The BOP also include a lock member that is configured to move between an unlocked position and a locked position in which the lock member is positioned within the cavity of the BOP and contacts the ram to thereby lock the ram in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 10494891
Abstract: Wireline valves with internal tool trap flappers are provided. In one embodiment, a wireline valve includes a main body with a bore sized to allow a downhole tool to pass through the main body of the wireline valve and a flapper positioned within the main body. The flapper is positioned with respect to the bore of the wireline valve such that the flapper can be moved between an open position that permits passage of the downhole tool through the bore of the main body of the wireline valve and a closed position that prevents passage of the downhole tool through the bore of the main body of the wireline valve in at least one direction. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 29, 2017
Date of Patent: December 3, 2019
    Assignee: CAMERON INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION

  • Patent number: 10100597
Abstract: A blowout preventer including a top including a chamber and an annular groove extending into a surface of the top, a housing including a chamber and an annular groove extending into a surface of the housing, and a connection assembly configured to releasably couple the top to the housing, the connection assembly including an arcuate ring segment having a radial width that is greater in size than an axial height of the ring segment, and a positioner configured to radially displace the ring segment between a locked position restricting relative axial movement between the top and the housing, and an unlocked position allowing for relative axial movement between the top and the housing.
