  • Patent number: 10749258
Abstract: An antenna system and method use an electronically-scanned antenna array and a hybrid beam former architecture. The antenna system includes a matrix of antenna elements and a feeder network. The feeder network includes a first layer including phase shifters. Each of the phase shifters is for a respective antenna element of the antenna elements. The feeder network also includes a second layer and a third layer. Each of the first set of the first time delay units in the second layer is for a respective first subarray of the first subarrays of the antenna elements. Each of the second set of the second time delay units in the third layer is for a respective second subarray of the second subarrays of the first subarrays.

  • Patent number: 10505572
Abstract: Systems and apparatuses include a sniffer circuit, a radio frequency processor, and a beamforming radio frequency integrated circuit. The sniffer circuit is structured to receive spurious signals from a sniffer antenna and self-jamming signals, and to produce an interference signal based on the spurious signals and the self-jamming signals. The radio frequency processor is structured to receive wideband signals from a plurality of radiating elements, receive the interference signals from the sniffer circuit, execute a subtraction from the wideband signals based on the interference signals, and produce desired signals. The beamforming radio frequency integrated circuit is structured to receive the desired signals from the radio frequency processor, execute beamforming operations, and produce an output signal.

  • Patent number: 8390388
Abstract: The present invention is an oscillator which implements matched resonators which are driven at a same frequency, one hundred-eighty degrees out-of-phase. The resonators may be implemented in a same plane of a printed circuit board and located adjacent to each other, thus the resonators are affected by a same (ex.—same magnitude of) vibration interference. However, in the oscillator embodiments described herein, the vibration interference component cancels out of (ex.—is eliminated from) the oscillator output signal, leaving only the desired component.

  • Patent number: 8344935
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an avionics system. The avionics system may include a plurality of multi-function antennas. Each multi-function antenna includes a plurality of antenna elements and an antenna electronics system, the antenna electronics system being communicatively coupled with the plurality of antenna elements. The multi-function antennas are configured for being mounted to an exterior surface of a pressure vessel (ex—an exterior surface of an aircraft). The avionics system may further include a plurality of LRUs connected to the antennas via fiber optical cables, the LRUs being located in an interior of the aircraft. The LRUs receive communication control inputs from a communication system and establish settings of the LRUs based upon the received communication control inputs. The multi-function antennas are configured for performing operations (exs.—transmit operations, receive operations) based upon the settings established by the LRUs and based upon the communication control inputs.
