    Abstract: A housing segment has a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet and a cooling passage therebetween. The cooling passage has a uniform cross-sectional area approximately equal to the cross-sectional area of the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet and may be conveniently formed in a serpentine configuration with loops extending axially. The bearing housing may be mounted over a rolling element bearing to provide a fluid-cooled housed bearing.
