  • Patent number: 6847019
Abstract: An induction heating roller, a fixing apparatus and an image forming apparatus are disclosed as including a heating roller (TR) comprised of a hollow roller base body (BB), composed of electrically insulating material, and a plurality of secondary coil components (ws), composed of closed circuits, respectively, which are formed over the roller base body. The heating roller (TR) internally receives an induction coil unit (IC) including a primary coil (wp) which is coupled with the secondary coils in a core-less transformer coupling relationship. The secondary coil components (ws) of the heating roller (TR) have a secondary resistance value (Ra) which is nearly equal to a secondary reactance (Xa), i.e. in case of Ra/Xa=?, a formula is expressed as 0.1<?<10. Further, the primary coil (wp) of the induction coil unit (IC) is comprised of a plurality of coil components which are connected between a wire pair (WP) in parallel to one another.

  • Patent number: 5847512
Abstract: A lamp device is constituted by an assembly consisting of a holder and a lamp and can be detachably attached to an installation hole of a print board or the like. The lamp device internally includes a flickering circuit for flickering the lamp. The holder comprises first, second, and third contact members for electrically connecting a power supply terminal of the print board with the lamp, and a flickering circuit element is contained in the holder. The first contact member has contacts with the power supply terminal and with a lead of the lamp. The second contact member has contacts with another lead of the lamp and with a terminal of the flickering circuit element. The third contact member has contacts with another terminal of the flickering circuit element and the power supply terminal.

  • Patent number: 5729095
Abstract: A high frequency (HF) lighting apparatus includes a rare gas discharge lamp and a power supply. The lamp has an envelope having a rare gas therein. A pair of electrodes is provided in the envelope, and an external conductor is provided near the envelope. The power supply includes a HF electric power circuit to generate a HF electric power. The HF electric power circuit has an output whose crest factor is 2.3 or more. The power supply has a ballast coupled between the HF electric power circuit and the lamp for applying stabilized HF current to the lamp. The power supply further has a DC supply circuit including a rectifier for rectifying the HF to DC and a voltage divider. The voltage divider is disposed between the lamp and the rectifier for applying a potential to the external conductor of the lamp and for adding a DC current to the stabilized HF current.
