In some instances the communications module and the applications module may be connected both physically and wirelessly. The wireless communications device may communicate as a combined system using long-range wireless technology such as Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) or similar technology.
