  • Patent number: 5664973
Abstract: A novel conductive contact comprises a dual beam spring (308, 310) which forms a "C" shaped spring and which is used to electrically mate to a contact on a printed circuit board. The open end of the "C" spring preferably fits over a plastic rib (404) in a housing for support. A surface mount contact (504) on the PCB has formed wings which fit into a rectangular slot in the PCB. To make electrical connection, the board is placed over the "C" spring. The "C" spring and plastic support protrude through the rectangular slot in the PCB. The conductive contact is preferably formed from a single piece of metal.

  • Patent number: 5253292
Abstract: A carrier assembly for an electronic device, such as a radiotelephone. The carrier assembly is comprised of a frame and a support arm pivotally coupled thereto. The frame receives the electronic device to engage supportively the electronic device thereat, and latch members latch the electronic device to the frame. The support arm is pivotally coupled to the frame to permit positioning of the support arm to form either a clip or a table-support. When positioned to form a clip, the carrier assembly permits carriage of the electronic device by way of supportive engagement of the device to an external object, such as a belt or other article of clothing, of a user. When positioned at the table-support position, the support arm is operative to support the electronic device in a desired orientation upon a surface.

  • Patent number: 5242767
Abstract: A battery housing base (300) with an integral, sliding channel mechanism (507) for attaching a battery to portable electronic equipment (102) is disclosed. The slide-on battery (105) is captivated by limited travel guide rails (307 through 312) within the sliding channels (507) along each opposite edge of the mating surface (302) of the battery housing base (300). Indentations (313 through 316) are disposed between neighboring limited travel guide rails (307 through 312). The indentations (313 through 316) enable the limited travel guide rails (307 through 312) to be manufactured using a single shot injection, straight pull ejection molding process and to be easily attached to the portable electronic equipment (102). The single shot injection mold process controls all critical interface dimensions on the battery housing base (300) for proper attachment to the portable electronic equipment (102).
