  • Patent number: 5263612
Abstract: A container in the form of a six-sided enclosure having opposing top and bottom walls, opposing side wall inner panels which are hingedly connected to opposing edges of the bottom wall, and opposing end walls formed from a corrugated or solid fibreboard blank. A pair of flaps are hingedly connected to opposing sides of each of the end walls and are adapted to overlie an adjacent side wall inner panel. A pair of side wall outer panels are hingedly connected to opposing edges of the top wall and each is adapted to overlie the flaps which overlie the adjacent side wall inner panel.

  • Patent number: 4969559
Abstract: A palletized container is provided which includes a collapsible receptacle section supported and subtended by the upper surface of a pallet section. The receptacle section is adjustable relative to the pallet section between set up and collapsed modes. The receptacle section includes pairs of foldably interconnected outet wall panels. When the receptacle section is in a set up mode, the pairs of wall panels assume upright opposed relation. Each panel of a first pair of wall panels includes a pair of foldably connected panel segments which are adapted to assume a planar relation when the receptacle section is in the set up mode. When the receptacle section is in a collapsed mode, the panel segments of each panel of the first pair assume a folded face-to-face relation and are sandwiched between a second pair of outer wall panels whereby both pairs of outer wall panels overlie the pallet section upper surface. Each panel of the second pair has a flap connected by a foldline to the bottom edge thereof.

  • Patent number: 4949898
Abstract: A palletized container is provided having a collapsible receptacle section supported and subtended by a pallet section. The receptacle section includes a plurality of foldably interconnected outer wall panels which, when in a set up mode, extend upright from the upper surface of the pallet section. When in a collapsed mode, the outer wall panels are disposed in stacked relation and overlie the pallet section upper surface. A selected first pair of outer wall panels is provided with each selected panel having a pair of complemental panel segments which are foldably interconnected. When the receptacle section is in the setup mode, each pair of complemental panel segments are disposed in coplanar relation and the selected first pair of outer wall panels are disposed in opposed upright relation. When the receptacle section is in a collapsed mode, the outer wall panels are disposed in stacked relation and overlie the pallet section upper surface.

  • Patent number: 4884741
Abstract: A shipping container and blank therefor are provided wherein the container is particularly suitable for accommodating a wide variety of produce. The container includes a pair of opposed upright side panels and a pair of opposed upright end panels, said pairs being interconnected by first foldlines. Major closure flaps are connected by second foldlines to the side panels and extend therefrom towards one another in a closing mode. Minor closure flaps are connected by third foldlines to the end panels and extend therefrom towards one another in a closing mode and at least partially overlap exterior surfaces of the major closure flaps. Each major closure flap is provided with a pair of relatively spaced locking slots.

  • Patent number: 4884739
Abstract: A container for produce and the like is provided which is adapted to be arranged in stacked relation with a second container of like configuration. The container includes a central section having a bottom panel, upright side panels arranged in opposed spaced relation, top closure panels, first joiner panels interconnecting the bottom panel to the side panels, and second joiner panels interconnecting the side panels to corresponding top closure panels. The container also includes a pair of upright end sections fixedly secured to opposite end edges of the central section, the end sections coact with the bottom panel, first joiner panels and side panels to form a receptacle for accommodating the produce. Each end section has upwardly extending protruberances formed on the upper edge portion thereof which are adapted to interlock with the top closure panels and retain same in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 4777994
Abstract: A sunshielding device is provided which is formed from a blank of lightweight, foldable, opaque relatively stiff sheet material. The device includes a plurality of multi-lateral panels arranged in side by side relation and adjacent panels being interconnected by non-parallel foldlines. The device is manually adjustable between operative and inoperative modes. When in an operative mode, the panels are unfolded relative to one another so as to overlie the interior surface of a motor vehicle windshield when the device is positioned proximate the interior surface. The non-parallel foldlines and the resulting panels allow the device, when in its operative mode, to readily conform to the curvature of the windshield interior surface. The unfolded device is held against the interior surface by one or both of the sunvisors provided adjacent the upper periphery of the windshield. When the device is in an inoperative mode, the panels assume a face to face relation forming a flat compact unit suitable for storage.

  • Patent number: 4645122
Abstract: A container for produce and the like is provided which includes a central section and a pair of end sections affixed thereto. The central section includes a bottom panel, upright side panels arranged in opposed spaced relation, and top closure panels. The bottom and side panels are interconnected by a pair of first joiner panels. The side and top closure panels are interconnected by a pair of second joiner panels. The upper edge portion of each end section is provided with at least one upwardly protruding member. The protruding member and the adjacent edge portion of a corresponding top closure panel are provided with complementary locking elements, the latter coacting to effect locking of the top closure panel in a predetermined folded position. The second joiner panels are disposed in abutting engagement with adjacent edge portions of the end sections, thereby restraining lateral relative movement of the top closure panels when the latter are in said predetermined folded position.
