  • Patent number: 8818652
Abstract: An assembly for facilitating steering of an agricultural implement linkable to a work vehicle is disclosed. The assembly comprises at least a first ground-engaging wheel to engage a ground surface below a frame of the agricultural implement to support the frame above the ground surface. The assembly further comprises a positioning system for receiving a positioning signal from a positioning source. The positioning system determines a current position of the agricultural implement from at least the positioning signal, and the positioning system generates a control signal derived from the current position of the agricultural implement. The assembly further comprises a steering cylinder connected to the first ground-engaging wheel. The steering cylinder operatively connects to the positioning system to steer the first ground-engaging wheel based on the control signal.

  • Patent number: 7849932
Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating steering, height adjustment and transport of a farm implement towed by a vehicle. The implement includes a main frame and a hitch that extends from the frame for linking to the vehicle. The apparatus comprises a wheel support member supported below the frame, at least a first ground engaging wheel supported by the wheel support member for rotation about a first wheel axis and to engage a ground surface below the frame thereby supporting the frame above the ground, a first hydraulic lift cylinder linked between the frame and the wheel support member and controllable to adjust the height of the frame above the ground, and a hydraulic steering cylinder mounted to the wheel support member and controllable to steer the first wheel independent of the state of the first lift cylinder.

  • Patent number: 7581597
Abstract: A method of and system for moving an agricultural implement between a folded, inoperative system for transport and an extended, field position is provided. The method includes the steps of providing an agricultural implement having a right wing of tools and a left wing of tools each located on opposite sides of a central longitudinal axis of the implement relative to each other; moving one of the right and left wings of tools from an extended position to a folded, inoperative position for transport; and moving the other of the right and left wings of tools from an extended position to a folded, inoperative position for transport after the step of moving one of the right and left wings.

  • Patent number: 7484748
Abstract: A steering connection assembly for a vehicle train having at least one implement towed behind a tow vehicle in a direction of travel is provided. The steering connection assembly includes an elongated tow bar interconnecting a first implement towed behind a second implement. A rearward end of the tow bar is includes an elongated opening to receive a steering rod member therethrough. A steering arm interconnects the steering rod member to a caster-type wheel assembly located at a forward of a first towed implement. With a first angle of rotation of the tow bar relative the longitudinal axis of the first implement, the vertical steering rod member slides along the opening of the tow bar such that the steering arm member and attached wheel assembly rotate a second angle of rotation less than the first angle of rotation of the tow bar.
