The striking tool may have a multi-piece construction, and may be partially filled with a flowable high-density material and/or may include a spring-loaded handle to help absorb impact recoil energy that would otherwise be undesirably transferred to the hand(s) and arm(s) of a user. At least a striking section or striking surface of such a tool may be comprised of a material that will not mar or otherwise damage an impacted target object.
