Abstract: A semiautonomously directed, autonomously controlled, gyroscopically stabilized, horizontal or vertical take off and landing (HOVTOL) flying apparatus employing two vertical lift devices equally and longitudinally spaced from the center of gravity of the apparatus; continuously integrated with a drive train apparatus, optional single or multiple power means; congruously connected thereto horizontal thrust devices. Integral to the vertical lift devices; pitch axis control devices situated at the exhaust orifices therein to vector said devices exhaust slip stream by a autonomous flight control system providing pitch stability. The autonomous flight control system providing continuously all flight control of the apparatus and said system being interfaced to a semiautonomous flight director device providing discrete flight direction function codes thereto.

Abstract: A tri-functional safety lamp is disclosed herein having a housing supporting at least three lamps operatively coupled to an electronic circuit incorporating a bellows switch. The switch includes a pair of contact members connected together and separated by a collapsible bellows wherein one member is secured to a movable brake cable while the member slides or floats on the cable. A stop element is fixedly carried on a stationary frame or support against which the floating contact member bears to collapse the bellows so that mating contacts on the members engage to close the electronic circuit.

Abstract: An optical safety apparatus for use in a vehicle having a tension controlled braking mechanism is disclosed herein. Included in the safety apparatus is a lamp means for emitting an optical braking signal and a mounting means for securing the lamp means to the vehicle. A switch means electrically connected to the lamp means controls emission of the braking signal in response to engagement of the braking mechanism. Included in a specific embodiment is a trifunctional lamp means for emitting an optical braking signal, for reflecting incident radiant energy and for generating an optical safety signal.
