Patent number: 6077485Abstract: A storage container for autoclaving and storage of a medical instrument cassette includes a tray portion and a lid assembly which are securely closed together by means of a pair of spring-biased end latches. The lid assembly includes a lid gasket which is compressed by an outer lip of the tray portion and further includes a pair of low profile filter assemblies. Each filter assembly includes a retainer plate with an assembled edge seal, a paper filter, and a cover plate. The stack of these components creates a low profile design whose overall thickness in a direction normal to the surface of the lid is less than 3/8 of an inch. The cover plate is easily attached and removed for replacing the paper filter by means of keyhole-shaped apertures in the cover plate and lock studs assembled to the lid assembly which fit within the keyhole-shaped apertures. The two latch assemblies provide a visual indication as to whether the lid assembly is securely sealed onto the tray portion or is open.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1998Date of Patent: June 20, 2000Assignee: Carr Metal Products, Inc.Inventor: Terry L. Patent number: 5630507Abstract: A single-action latch for use on a medical case which includes a storage tray and a closing lid includes a latch base with a mounting surface and rivet holes for attaching the latch base to the storage tray. A hook portion is pivotally attached to the latch base by means of a cylindrical pin. A release/closing lever is pivotally attached to the latch base by means of a cylindrical pin. A pair of oppositely-disposed connecting links is provided so as to interconnect the hook portion with the release/closing lever. The connecting links separate the hook portion from the latch base and the release/closing lever from the latch base. The latch is operable between a closed condition and an open condition and the lever is pivotally movable so as to transition the latch from the closed condition to the opened condition and then back to the closed condition.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1996Date of Patent: May 20, 1997Assignee: Carr Metal Products, Inc.Inventor: Terry L. Patent number: 4756940Abstract: A strain relief system for flexible circuits has a tapered cover laminate affixed to either side of the flexible circuit to form a cover laminate/flexible circuit assembly, with the widest portion of the cover laminate being at the point of maximum bending stress of the flexible circuit to provide a stiffer assembly at that point. A rigid stiffener having a bending radius also is affixed to either side of the cover laminate/flexible circuit assembly at the point of maximum bending stress to provide strain relief, the bending radii being laterally offset from each other so that bending in opposite directions occurs at different locations of the flexible circuit. The result is a gentle, low stress bend in the flexible circuit when subjected to regular bending.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1986Date of Patent: July 12, 1988Assignee: Tektronix, Inc.Inventors: David G. Payne, Terry L. Baker, Donald J. Fisher

Patent number: 4573220Abstract: A glove for use in billiards which can be worn on either hand of the player to cover the thumb, index finger, and middle finger of the hand. A first member of the glove is formed with a thumb portion, index finger portion, middle finger portion and hand portion. A second member symmetrical to the first member is formed with a thumb, index finger, middle finger and hand portions corresponding to those of the first member. A slit opening is formed in each hand portion extending in close proximity to the junction between the thumb and index finger. The two members are stitched together along the edges with straight edge stitching except for the hand portions which remain open to accommodate ring and little fingers. An elastic band and fastener are stitched to one of the members. The material of the members is soft and stretchable to accommodate a range of hand sizes and has tiny openings formed therein for ventilation and comfort.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1984Date of Patent: March 4, 1986Inventor: Terry L.
