  • Patent number: 11419427
Abstract: A convertible furniture system or futon includes a convertible frame assembly that is mountable in an interior space and is deployable between a bench configuration and a flat, bed configuration. The frame assembly includes a back frame and a bottom frame that are pivotably coupled together and coordinate to form either the bench configuration that provides a user an upright seat or the bed configuration that provides the user a flat, substantially horizontal bed to lie down on. A user can maneuver the system from the bench configuration into the bed configuration and vice versa. The system may be installed inside of various interior living quarters, including inside of mobile vehicles. The system includes various support elements mounted to the interior space, the support element may be selectively engaged to support the system in the bed or bench configurations and during deployment and stowage of the system.

  • Publication number: 20130298429
Abstract: A combination snow blower and plow apparatus provides at least two operating configurations including a standard-width snow blowing configuration, and a snow plowing configuration. The apparatus includes a snow plow assembly coupled to a snow blower mechanism, the plow assembly being movable between a lowered deployed position for engaging snow, and a raised undeployed position for disengaging the plow assembly from the snow. In the plowing configuration, snow plow blades may be laterally extended to increase the width of a path cleared by the apparatus. Optionally, in the increased-width configuration, the apparatus may provide a pure plowing function, or may provide a combined plowing and snow-blowing function. The movable blades may be supported in their laterally-extended positions by struts, which support the blades as they are moved through an accumulation of snow or debris. Optionally, the snow plow assemblies may be configured as a kit for retrofitting existing snow blowers.

  • Publication number: 20120279093
Abstract: A combination snow blower and plow apparatus provides at least two operating configurations including (i) a standard-width snow blowing configuration, and (ii) an expanded-width plowing and blowing configuration. Optionally, the apparatus may further be capable of an expanded-width snow plowing configuration. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a pair of snow-pushing plate assemblies that are pivotably attached to a snow blower mechanism, and are repositionable or reconfigurable to provide different plowing or blowing configurations, such as by directing snow into a snow blower intake or by pushing an accumulation of snow ahead of the blower mechanism. In other embodiments, the apparatus includes a pair of removable snow-pushing wings. The snow-pushing plate assemblies may be configured as a kit for retrofitting existing snow blowers. Optionally, inlet-blocking plates may be used to block the snow blower intake and form a substantially continuous plow across the front of the snow blower mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5638618
Abstract: A plow assembly is disclosed for vehicles such as pickup trucks and tractors for moving snow or other materials. The plow assembly has at least one extendable, forwardly pivotable plow wing which is extendable on one end of a main plow by sliding movement along the front of the plow between a retracted and an extended position in which the plow wing is generally aligned with the plow front surface. The plow wing is also pivotally mounted on a hinge for movement between the extended position and a forwardly angled position in which the plow wing front surface extends at an angle to the plow front surface. A power source connected to the plow wing is operable to move the wing between the retracted, extended and forwardly angled positions. Preferably, a latch assembly prevents pivotal movement of the plow wing to the forwardly angled position until the plow wing is in the extended position.

  • Patent number: 4457492
Abstract: A lifting apparatus for lifting a load such as a motorcycle. The apparatus includes a base and a load support which may be placed under the load to be lifted. The base and load support each include vertical columns, one column being positioned in the other column so that the columns telescope to raise and lower the load support. A lever operable cam is secured to the base at a pivot having a horizontal axis and the cam surface is in contact with a cam follower secured to the load support. The lever pivots the cam so as to raise and lower the load support. The cam surface configuration keeps the load support in either the raised or lower position until the lever is operated.
