  • Patent number: 11851166
Abstract: A system and method of displaying an Engine Failure Awareness Chart (EFAC) for aircraft with at least one engine out is shown and described herein. The EFAC may display lines and zones indicative of levels of risk of obstacles on the ground. The obstacles may be either man-made or natural structures. The EFAC may update continuously providing the pilot with a real-time awareness of the risks around the aircraft during an engine failure. Using the EFAC the pilot may navigate the aircraft to a landing area or back to the airport for landing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 2021
Date of Patent: December 26, 2023
    Assignee: AeroData, Inc.
Inventors: Terry L. McDonough, Garrett W. van Ark, Scott E. Graham

  • Publication number: 20210101674
Abstract: A system and method of planning and displaying takeoff brake release points, landing autobrake points, autobrake settings, and last touchdown points based on aircraft-specific performance is shown and described herein. Aircraft information and environmental information may be obtained from aircraft and airport systems. Takeoff brake release points may be determined based on thrust and economic savings for the aircraft and displayed to the pilot. Further, landing autobrake points, autobrake settings, and last touchdown points may be determined and displayed for the aircraft during landing.

  • Patent number: 9361486
Abstract: A weight and center-of-gravity profile for an aircraft is determined prior to flight. An uncertainty band is determined for each of a plurality of points along a fuel vector for the planned flight. Each of the points along the fuel vector is compared to a predetermined flight limit (e.g., an FAA certified envelope). This comparison is used to decide whether the profile is suitable for flight of the aircraft. If so, an indication is provided to a user (e.g., on a display or by a text message) that the profile is suitable and the aircraft is ready for flight.
