Patent number: 9573243Abstract: An adaptive feedback control method is provided for a chemical mechanical polish process to minimize a dielectric layer clearing time difference between two annular regions on a substrate. An optical system with an optical window passes below the polishing pad and detects reflected light interference signals from at least two annular regions. A pre-clearing time difference is determined and is used to calculate an adjustment to one or both of a CMP head membrane pressure and a retaining ring pressure. The pressure adjustment is applied before the end of the polish cycle to avoid the need for a second polish cycle and to reduce a dishing difference and a resistance difference in a metal layer in the at least two annular regions. In some embodiments, a second pressure adjustment is performed before the end of the cycle and different CMP head membrane pressure adjustments are made in different pressure zones.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2014Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: Headway Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Terry Moore, Brant Nease

Patent number: 7378845Abstract: A method for measuring fluid flow rates comprises the steps of: (a) creating a non-oscillating magnetic field of a predetermined strength across a flowing fluid; (b) performing the sub-steps of: (i) exposing the flowing fluid to an oscillating magnetic field pulse orthogonal to the non-oscillating magnetic field to generate an NMR signal, and (ii) detecting the NMR signal from the flowing fluid in the form of a free induction decay; and (c) determining the fluid flow rate from the initial magnitude of the free induction decay.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2006Date of Patent: May 27, 2008Assignee: Rolls-Royce plcInventors: Peter Morris, Terry Moore, Paul Anuzis, Kenneth Astley

Publication number: 20070215722Abstract: A device for dispensing fertilizer into a fluid flowing in a pipe includes a fertilizer tank and a coupling communicating with the pipe. Optionally, the tank includes a pressure gauge, a sight glass, and a fill port with a fitting that engages a fitting on a cap or a funnel. In an optional embodiment, the tank and coupling communicate through an in-flow tube and an out-flow tube. An in-flow inlet on the tank receives a flow of fluid through the coupling from the pipe. Fluid flowing into the tank forces fertilizer from the tank through an out-flow outlet that communicates with the coupling.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Inventors: Raymond Smith, Terry Moore

Patent number: 7164123Abstract: A method for filtering spurious resonances from an NMR dataset comprises the steps of: (a) creating a first, non-oscillating magnetic field of a predetermined field strength across a sample, (b) intermittently exposing the sample to a second, oscillating magnetic field orthogonal to the first to generate an NMR signal, (c) detecting the NMR signal from the sample, (d) adjusting the first magnetic field to a different predetermined field strength and repeating steps (a) to (c), and (d) comparing the detected signals to obtain an NMR dataset from the sample from which spurious resonances have been filtered.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2005Date of Patent: January 16, 2007Assignee: Rolls-Royce plcInventors: Peter G. Publication number: 20050274937Abstract: An improved insert for a chain link fence wherein a plurality of such inserts, each formed in a shape substantially the same as the square or diamond shaped matrix formed by the wires of the fence crossing over each, are connected to each other entrapping there between the wires from which the fence is formed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2004Publication date: December 15, 2005Inventor: Terry Moore

Publication number: 20050211889Abstract: The present invention is a thorax phantom that enables simulation of tumor motion within a tissue equivalent material. The system consists of a tissue equivalent epoxy phantom representing a 15 cm axial section of the human thorax that includes simplified spine and lung anatomies. Within the phantom are thru rods of similar tissue density. The rods are attached to a computer-controlled actuator that facilitates both linear and rotational motion of the rods within the phantom. A plurality of tumor targets and radiation detectors can be placed within the rods at various locations thereby enabling the simulation of respiratory and cardiac induced tumor motions within the phantom and assessment of the effects of these motions on image acquisitions, treatment planning and radiation treatment delivery.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2004Publication date: September 29, 2005Inventors: Vladmir Varchena, Mark Devlin, Moustafa Zerhouni, Terry Moore

Patent number: 6481749Abstract: Automatic and simultaneous retraction of a pair of stabilizer legs for a backhoe loader machine 10 is beneficial for the operator when operation of the backhoe loader is complete. Instead of retracting the stabilizer legs by manually holding a pair of control switches continuously in a control position, the operator may simply push an auto-up switch with a single, “one-touch” contact. Once the auto-up switch has been activated by the “one-touch” contact, a timer relay is enabled. The timer relay acts independently of the auto-up switch to control the simultaneously retraction of the stabilizer legs without any further contact to the auto-up switch. When the timer relay is enabled, it sends a signal to activate the control switches for a preselected time. The activation of the control switches actuates a pair of solenoid valves which control the movement of the stabilizer legs from any one of a plurality of extended positions to a fully retracted position within the preselected time.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1999Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Assignee: Caterpillar IncInventors: Kem D. Patent number: 6235283Abstract: This invention relates to an antigen isolated from the cattle tick Boophilus microplus and to the gene coding for that antigen and to the protein product of that gene. The antigen when used in part or in entirety as an immunogen administered to cattle as a vaccine results in the production by the cattle of an immune response which is capable of damaging ticks feeding on vaccinated cattle to such an extent that the survival of such ticks is decreased and/or the reproductive capacity of the ticks is decreased to such an extent that the antigen coded for by the gene can be used as an effective vaccine against said ticks.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1995Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Assignees: Biotechnology Australia Pty.
