  • Publication number: 20150254406
Abstract: Cognitive bandwidth of a healthcare delivery team is managed by managing cognitive bandwidth of the healthcare providers and the overall support team for those providers on the healthcare delivery team. A performance improvement coordinator allocates health care delivery tasks and educational tasks to ensure that no healthcare provider or team member on the healthcare provider team reaches a tipping point to increase the likelihood that tasks at risks are performed adequately. Patient care tasks performed by the patient can also be considered by the performance improvement coordinator to avoid the patient reaching a tipping point that will adversely affect the patient's ability to learn and perform required patient care tasks effectively and efficiently.

  • Publication number: 20150248532
Abstract: Process mining and tipping point analysis is used to determine tasks at risk. Tasks At Risk Intervention lead time analysis determines whether those tasks at risk can be performed in an opportunity window cost-effectively and at a high rate of success by the current task force. Load balancing can be used to offload fungible tasks at risk to flexible resources that can perform those tasks at risk for the highest value opportunities to micro-target tasks at risk with specific countermeasures, perhaps partitioned among several task force members to ensure can be done within the window of opportunity, to ensure their success. The flexible cognitive resources performing fungible tasks can be housed in a hub resource facility to centralize load balancing and obtain scale economies benefits from the shared capacity.

  • Patent number: 8515777
Abstract: A healthcare provisioning system improves efficiency in providing healthcare services. Healthcare supply and demand models are analyzed by a healthcare provisioning system to efficiently allocate healthcare supply resources to satisfy healthcare demand. Healthcare supply resources are allocated so as to avoid tipping points that can result in increased costs and negative patient outcomes.

  • Patent number: 8407081
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for improving processes in a healthcare organization by mining historical data for information that can be used to more effectively allocate resources and process components. Factors used for the analysis include time, information, motivation, skills, and authority for particular resources. Arbitrage processing is used to minimize opportunity costs and increase efficiency.
