The filtered flow-through fitting may include a fitting having a first opening and a second opening connected in fluid communication, a securing mechanism for securing the fitting within a cavity, and a filter extending outwardly from the first opening. The filtered flow-through fitting and associated system and method provide the benefits of allowing an engine component to be quickly and easily replaced, while providing additional protection to the engine's fluid systems by providing an additional layer of particulate matter filtration.
