Abstract: A security access system can replace a physical guard with a kiosk including video cameras, monitors, microphones, control equipment, etc. and the like, so that one central monitoring station can control a plurality of automated remote kiosks. The central station can view and communicate with a visitor at each of the kiosks. The central station also has access to databases to determine whether the visitor should be granted access. Moreover, video data of the visitor can be recorded at the central station. This central station can then grant or deny access to the visitor. Low costs and highly efficient operations are thereby realized.
