  • Patent number: 10191548
Abstract: A touch sensor that generates an output based on an operation performed to the touch sensor by an operator; a transducer attached to the touch sensor and configured to vibrate the touch sensor so as to give a touch feeling to the operator contacting the touch sensor; and a controller configured to (i) determine a content of the operation performed to the touch sensor by the operator based on the output of the touch sensor and (ii) select one of the plurality of operation modes based on the determined content of the operation performed to the touch sensor by the operator. The controller causes the transducer to vibrate the touch sensor with different patterns of vibration so as to give different touch feelings to the operator contacting the touch sensor depending on the determined content of the operation performed to the touch sensor by the operator.

  • Publication number: 20180335851
Abstract: An input device according to a mode of an embodiment includes a detection unit, at least one vibration element, and a vibration control unit. The detection unit detects a contact position of a user on an operation surface. The vibration element vibrates the operation surface. The vibration control unit controls the vibration element in such a manner that a vibration state of the vibration element becomes a first vibration state when the contact position detected by the detection unit is in a predetermined region and that a vibration state of the vibration element becomes a second vibration state different from the first vibration state when the contact position is outside the predetermined region.

  • Publication number: 20170060245
Abstract: An input device according to an embodiment includes an operation panel, a selection unit, a detector, a vibration element, a setting unit, and a vibration control unit. The selection unit selects a to-be-controlled object using the operation panel in accordance with the user's action. The detector detects touch operation on the operation panel. The vibration element vibrates the operation panel. The setting unit sets a vibration pattern of the vibration element appropriate to the touch operation detected by the detector, depending on the to-be-controlled object selected by the selection unit. The vibration control unit controls the vibration element to generate the vibration pattern set by the setting unit.

  • Patent number: 9116012
Abstract: A storage part of an on-vehicle apparatus stores simplified map data of which content is simplified as compared to original map data used for route guidance. An image generator of the on-vehicle apparatus retrieves the simplified map data stored on the storage part and generates a map image based on the simplified map data. Then a transmitter of the on-vehicle apparatus transmits the map image generated by the image generator to a portable device, in response to a demand from the portable device.
