    Abstract: A novel aqueous dispersion type resin composition obtained by the method comprising polymerizing at least one .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer in an aqueous medium containing a water soluble resin with an amphoionic group of the formula ##STR1## (in which R and Y are defined in the specification) and in the presence of an organic initiator, the solid weight ratio of said water soluble resin to said monomer being, 10:90 to 90:10. The aqueous coating composition based on said resin composition is excellent in storage stability, application characteristics and capable of resulting a coating with excellent film properties.

    Abstract: An aqueous coating composition which comprises at least one aqueous resin selected from polyester, alkyd, acrylic, acryl modified--polyester and acryl modified--alkyd resins, and at least one water--insoluble resinous particles obtained by the polymerization or copolymerization of .alpha., .beta.--ethylenically unsaturated monomers, which is characterized by that said resinous particles are composed of mixture of (A) group of particles having a mean grain diameter of 0.3.about.6.mu. and (B) group of particles having a mean grain diameter of 0.01.about.0.1.mu., in weight ratio of (A)/(B)=99.9/0.1.about.40/60 and that the solid weight ratio of said aqueous resin to water insoluble resinous particles is 99/1.about.15/85. The coating composition is well balanced in application characteristics and in film performance as gloss and surface smoothness and hence is quite useful as a top coat.

    Abstract: An anticorrosive metal surface pretreating composition comprising:(a) an emulsion of polymer particles comprising at least one .alpha., .beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomers, bearing thereon, as protective colloid, an oligomer with hydrophylic groups comprising at least one .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, the mean diameter of the particles being 0.1 to 3.mu. and the particles being formed as hard microparticles through internal gelation or having a glass transition point from 15.degree. to 110.degree. C., and(b) a water soluble chromium compound, 25 to 50% by weight of the total chromium contained being of trivalent, the weight ratio of said emulsion solid to metallic chromium being 1:10.about.5:1. The present composition affords a pretreatment coating with improved anticorrosive, bending and scratch resistant properties on various metallic substrates.

    Abstract: A process for preparing copolymers of acetylene and conjugated diene compounds by copolymerization of acetylene with at least one conjugated diene compound in the presence of a catalyst composition in a reactor, characterized in that the catalyst composition comprises a dialkyl aluminum halide, an organic nickel compound and an active hydrogen compound, of which the molar concentrations have the following relationships:[Al]=2[Ni]+[H][Al]/[Ni]>4wherein [Al], [Ni] and [H] represent respectively the molar concentrations of the dialkyl aluminum halide, of the organic nickel compound and of the active hydrogen compound, whereby the copolymer was obtained in a good yield without by-production of any gel material.
