Abstract: The present invention aims to provide nonwoven fabric for sanitary materials having high water absorbability and high diffusing capacity for liquids such as water and chemicals as well as high bulkiness, flexibility, and anti-see-through property, and also provides sanitary material products produced therefrom including a water absorbing sheet for sanitary napkins. The nonwoven fabric for sanitary materials may comprise nonwoven fabric of polyester based fiber with a flattened multilobar cross section containing 6 or more convex portions along the cross-sectional circumference, the polyester based fiber with a flattened multilobar cross section having a flatness of 2.0 to 3.0, a degree of irregularity of 1.0 to 5.0, and a convex ratio of 0.6 to 0.9, and the polyester based fiber with a flattened multilobar cross section being joined by heat-weldable fiber.

Abstract: A spun yarn includes 20 to 80% by mass of a polyester-based fiber having a flat multifoliar cross section and 20 to 80% by mass of a cellulose-based fiber. A cross-sectional shape of the polyester-based fiber having a flat multifoliar cross section is a flat shape having 6 or more convex parts on a circumference thereof. The polyester-based fiber having a flat multifoliar cross section has the specific flat ratio and specific modified shape ratio.

Abstract: A nonwoven fabric is suitable for human cleansing and cosmetic wiper application. This nonwoven fabric exhibits high absorption, retention and release of liquid such as water and chemical solutions, excellent bulkiness and softness with good texture and reduced skin irritation, and high wiping ability. The nonwoven fabric includes 20 to 80% by weight of a polyester fiber having an oblate multilobal cross section and 20 to 80% by weight of a cellulose fiber, and the polyester fiber has an oblate multilobal cross section with an oblate cross section having at least six lobes on its periphery. The polyester fiber has predetermined degree of oblateness and degree of irregularity.
