  • Patent number: 8991582
Abstract: An actuator for driving a release mechanism of a clutch includes a motor, an output member, a ball screw mechanism, a trapezoidal screw mechanism and a power transmission mechanism. The output member is coupled to the release mechanism, and is movable in an actuation direction of the release mechanism. The ball screw mechanism is configured to convert rotation of the motor in one direction into movement of the output member in a first axial direction. The trapezoidal screw mechanism has a self-lock function against a reverse driving force from the release mechanism, and is configured to convert rotation of the motor in the other direction into movement of the output member in a second axial direction. The power transmission mechanism is configured to selectively transmit rotation of the motor to the ball screw mechanism or the trapezoidal screw mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7225614
Abstract: An impeller 3 configures a fluid chamber and includes impeller blades 17 and an annular impeller hub 18. A turbine 4 is disposed to face the impeller 3 and includes turbine blades 22 and an annular turbine hub 23 disposed at an inner peripheral side of the turbine blades 22. A ball bearing 8 is disposed between an inner peripheral surface of the impeller hub 18 and an outer peripheral surface of the turbine hub 23. A first stop ring 34 that engages with a first groove 19 and an engagement groove 31a fixes the ball bearing 8 with respect to the impeller hub 18 due to the ball bearing 8 and the impeller hub 18 being brought into close proximity to each other in the axial direction. A second stop ring 35 engaged with a second groove 24a fixes the ball bearing 8 and the turbine hub 23.

  • Patent number: 5067227
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a double wrap brake band having three bands, friction facings fastened to each band, and a connecting member connecting outside bands of the three bands with an intermediate band of such bands. A first bracket member is secured to both outside bands, and a second bracket member secured to the intermediate band. The three bands, the connecting member, and the first and second bracket members are all made of sheet metal. Edges, receiving a piston, or an anchor, at their backsides, are integrally formed on the first and second bracket members. The connecting member and the first and second bracket members are secured to the three bands by rivets.

  • Patent number: 4982821
Abstract: Disclosed is a friction device of a lockup clutch which comprises an annular and plate-shaped piston linking with pressure to the input portion of a torque converter, an annular driven plate linking to the turbine of the torque converter, and damper springs for coupling the piston and driven plate in the circumferential direction, in which a friction mechanism is disposed between the internal circumferential portion of the piston and the turbine hub, and this friction mechanism is provided with a first friction member not rotatable relative to the turbine hub and a second friction member not rotatable relative to the piston, and these two friction members are pressed to each other so as to produce friction in the friction members by the relative rotation of piston and turbine hub.
