    Abstract: An apparatus for irradiating electron beams to treat a linear material such as an electric wire is proposed which has a plurality of pulley units for feeding the linear material wound therearound and a plurality of drive devices for each of the pulley units. The pulley units are movable in the direction of the axis of the pulleys over a sufficient distance to move the material into and out of an electron beam irradiation zone. At least one of the pulley units is positioned in the electron beam irradiation zone.
