  • Patent number: 4414627
Abstract: A main memory control system reconstructs the main memory following DP system failure to ensure continuous logical address to operative physical memory mapping so that the DP system can be restarted using a rescue type initial program load. An address converting table has word registers addressable by logical address for storing the respective preassigned physical unit memory addresses and corresponding flags to indicate whether the unit memories are operative. Prior to DP system restart, the words of the address converting table are shifted among the registers to reallocate the real addresses of nonfunctioning unit memories to the read address of functioning unit memories.

  • Patent number: 4392788
Abstract: A partition member divides the interior of the rear cylinder head into a low pressure chamber and a high pressure chamber on one side of the partition member facing the valve plate and into an oil separating chamber on the opposite side. Formed in the high pressure chamber at its peripheral portion are first and second oil collecting chambers which communicate with the drive shaft-fitted hole of the cylinder block, allowing lubricating oil therein to be fed to the hole. The oil separating chamber is provided with a guide wall for guiding suction fluid in a swirling manner. A third oil collecting chamber is defined between the guide wall and the inner peripheral wall of the rear cylinder head and communicates with the oil sump in the cylinder block, allowing lubricating oil therein to be returned to the oil sump.

  • Patent number: 4367070
Abstract: A process for treating a fibrous structure is provided. The fibrous structure comprises at least two components at least one of which is a polyester containing an SO.sub.3 M group wherein M represents hydrogen or an alkali metal. The process is characterized in that the fibrous structure is treated with an agent which deteriorates the polyester prior to the alkali treatment for the removal of the polyester component.

  • Patent number: 4325222
Abstract: A device responsive to an unusual temperature change in a refrigerant compressor using an electromagnetic clutch including a magnet coil as an actuating element of the clutch, comprising an overcurrent-responsive element such as a fuse connected in parallel with the magnet coil, a temperature-responsive switch operative to be open when the temperature in the compressor rises beyond a predetermined value, and a switching element such as a transistor which is non-conductive when the temperature-responsive switch is closed and which is made conductive to cause the fuse to melt when the temperature-responsive switch is made to open.

  • Patent number: 4306288
Abstract: A multiprocessor initialization sequence provides diagnostic routines in each processor and interconnects the several processors only if the diagnostic routines indicate positive results. Apparatus external to the individual processors places the processors in an initialization mode during which time the diagnostic routines will be run. A host selection signal is sent to one of the plural processors and that processor in turn sends subprocessor selection signals to all of the other processors. The diagnostic routine for a given processor is initiated in response to either a host selection signal or a subprocessor selection signal. If a failure is detected in the diagnostic routine in the host processor, the failure is registered and sent to all subprocessors. If a failure is detected in a subprocessor, it is simply registered as a failure but not sent to the host processor.

  • Patent number: 4285207
Abstract: A float operated switch (21) is actuated when the level of refrigerant fluid in a reservoir (11) is below a predetermined value to produce an electrical signal. The signal is delayed by 10 to 30 seconds and applied to a switch circuit (54) to disengage an electromagnetic clutch (63) and thereby de-energize a compressor (64). The clutch (63) is also disengaged by the action of a thermal switch (61) when the temperature in a space which is being air conditioned drops below a predetermined value. The operation of the float operated switch (21) is inhibited when the sensed temperature is below the predetermined value and also when a motor which drives the compressor (64) is not operating to prevent erroneous de-energization of the compressor (64).
