  • Publication number: 20010040437
Abstract: In order to effectively prevent generation of a counter electromotive voltage during cruising, the present invention provides a control system of a hybrid vehicle comprising an engine, motor, and a capacitor, including an engine rotational speed sensor for detecting the engine rotational speed NE, a target voltage setting device for setting a charge target voltage (target capacitor voltage), and a motor ECU for controlling the charge of said power storage unit. A target capacitor voltage VCAPCMD is set based on the detected engine rotational speed NE (step S300), and when the capacitor voltage VCAP<the target capacitor voltage VCAPCMD (step S311 is “YES”), a charging operation is executed until the target capacitor voltage VCAPCMD≦the capacitor voltage VCAP. Thereby, it is possible to maintain the counter electromotive voltage<the capacitor voltage.

  • Patent number: 6267706
Abstract: When the shift position is an N position or a P position during deceleration of a vehicle, or when a brake pedal is depressed even if the shift position is a D position or an R position, an engine E is stopped to prohibit an unnecessary idling operation by prohibiting the restarting of the supplying of fuel subsequent to the fuel cut by a command from an electronic control unit. If the supplying of fuel is restarted when the engine is in stoppage, a starter motor is driven automatically to start the engine. Thus, in a vehicle including an automatic transmission, the time of stoppage of the engine can be prolonged as much as possible in a range in which the operability of the vehicle is injured, thereby providing a reduction in amount of fuel consumed.

  • Publication number: 20010003979
Abstract: In order to prevent an occurrence of dieseling phenomenon, and to prevent engine rotation speed from decreasing during idle operation or the idle operation from being stopped, in step S111, it is determined whether the flag value of an idle stop flag F_IDLSTP is “1” or not. If it is determined that the determination result is “YES”, that is, if it is determined that the internal combustion engine body is stopped, 0% is set to a target purge control valve drive duty value PGCMD (step S105), and 0 is set to the target purge flow rate QPGC (step S106). If it is determined that the determination result is “NO”, that is, when the internal combustion engine body is in operation, PGCMD calculation processing is executed (step S112).

  • Patent number: 6009965
Abstract: A torque shock alleviating device in a hybrid vehicle utilizing both an engine and an electric motor as drive sources, whereby a torque shock is not generated when the rich-spiking of the air-fuel mixture is carried out in order to restore the adsorbing ability of an NOx adsorbing device in the hybrid vehicle. When an engine is operated in a lean burn manner, NOx in an exhaust gas is adsorbed to an NOx adsorbing device provided in an exhaust passage. When the adsorbing ability of the NOx adsorbing device reaches a saturated level, a rich-spiking for temporarily enrichening the air-fuel mixture of the engine is carried out to restore the adsorbing ability of the NOx adsorbing device. When the output torque from the engine is increased by the rich-spiking, a regenerative braking force is generated in a motor, thereby moderating the increase in output torque from the engine by such regenerative braking force to alleviate the torque shock.

  • Patent number: 5860460
Abstract: A refueling pipe structure of a fuel tank includes a tank body, and an a refueling pipe which is connected to the tank body to extend upwardly therefrom. The refueling pipe is provided at its upper end with a refueling port into which a refueling nozzle can be inserted. The structure includes a flow direction limiting device mounted within the refueling pipe in the vicinity of the refueling port for guiding a fuel flow from a tip end of the refueling nozzle toward an inner surface of the refueling pipe, while limiting the fuel flow in a gyrate direction along the inner surface of the refueling pipe. Thus, the generation of evaporated fuel within the refueling pipe during refueling can be inhibited, and fuel can be smoothly introduced into the tank body.

  • Patent number: 5707430
Abstract: The concentration of a hydrocarbon gas in a gas discharged from a drain port is detected by a break-through gas concentration sensor provided in a discharge pipe connected to the drain port. The entire amount of the hydrocarbon gas discharged from the drain port as a result of breaking-through of an adsorbent layer is collected by a break-through gas collecting means, and the entire amount of the hydrocarbon gas collected by the break-through gas collecting means is detected. Thus, in measuring the adsorbing ability of a canister, the concentration of the hydrocarbon discharged from the canister by the breaking-through can be detected with the passage of time and in a stable manner, whereby a measurement value of an excellent accuracy can be provided by a single measurement.
