Abstract: An image processing system for editing and outputting image information obtained by reading a manuscript. An input unit inputs editing instructions including editing area and editing content. A display unit displays an area for editing instruction, and an edit processing unit processes the inputted editing instructions and sends editing instructions to an image processing unit, whereby editing content of said area is displayed on the display unit as the editing instruction, and the editing area is changed according to inputted correction of the editing area. Editing content of the editing area and the correction of the editing instruction can be confirmed on a display screen. The correction amount is displayed in numerical values by a bit map display overlapping and displaying the manuscript image information on the display unit or overlapping and displaying the manuscript image information on the editing area. A character display displays numerical values and characters.

Abstract: A reduction/enlargement processing system for an image processing apparatus of the type in which a line sensor is moved in a secondary scan direction while an image on an original is read by the line sensor in a main scan direction, comprising, line buffers for retaining image data for two lines, an interpolation processing circuit for applying a 2-point interpolation to the image data when the image data is written into or read out of the buffers, and a control circuit for controlling the writing data to and read data from the buffers and the interpolation circuit. Further, selectors are provided on the data input side and the data output side, and on the buffer side. The interpolation circuit is connected between the selectors. The line buffers are alternately selected for the read/write of image data. With use of the selectors, the 2-point interpolation may be applied to the image data or the image data may be directly processed.

Abstract: Edit tables each listing a plurality of edit processes and associated ranks of order are stored in a control means. Instructions designating edit areas in a displayed document image with respective ranks of order and one of the edit tables are input through a touch panel or digitizer. The edit processes in the designated edit table are applied to the respective designated edit areas having the same rank of order to produce edited image data. A hard copy is produced based on the edited image data.

Abstract: An editing control system for digital image processing equipment is characterized by area editing means for specifying a plurality of areas in an image of an original and switching parameters of image adjusting processes for every specified area, and annotation editing means for superimposing an annotation pattern on the image. According to another aspect, an area editing system is characterized in that editing processes are performed by selecting an area with higher priority when some of specified areas are overlapped.
