  • Publication number: 20120319971
Abstract: Disclosed is an information viewing apparatus, which makes it possible for the user to conduct operations for inputting information and establishing various kinds of functions only by conducting consecutive simplified operations from a multi-touchable touch panel. The apparatus includes a display section provided with a multi-touchable touch panel having first and second touch panels, and a control section that controls the display section. In a state that the display section is displaying a document, when detecting a predetermined dragging action, the control section makes the display section displays an inputting screen, which allows the user to conduct an inputting operation from the second touch panel, during a time when a touching status is maintained in such a manner that the inputting screen overlaps the document. When the touching status is released, the control section controls the display section so as to make the inputting screen evacuate from the document.

  • Patent number: 8305652
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a carriage having mounted thereon a linear light source and an image sensor and a reference pattern member disposed at a reference position located toward the first direction from a home position. The current location of the carriage is judged relatively to first and second areas that are divided by a boundary defined in advance at a location toward the first direction from the reference position. The first area is located toward the first direction and the second area is located toward the second direction. Immediately after the power is turned ON, current location information indicating whether the carriage is currently located in the first area or the second area is read from the nonvolatile memory. The carriage is first moved to the reference position and then moved a predetermined distance in the second direction, so that the carriage is duly positioned at the home position.

  • Publication number: 20120032873
Abstract: Disclosed is a management apparatus, which makes it possible to use an information viewing apparatus without considering the residual amount of the buttery, provided therein. The apparatus includes: a plurality of slots to support a plurality of information viewing apparatuses, each of which is activated by an electric power fed from a buttery provided therein and is to be inserted into each of the slots in a detachable manner; and a controlling section to control the plurality of information viewing apparatuses, respectively inserted into the slots. When a predetermined information viewing apparatus is inserted into one of the plurality of slots, the controlling section moves data stored in the predetermined information viewing apparatus to another information viewing apparatus, which is currently inserted into another one of the plurality of slots, depending on a residual amount of the buttery provided in the predetermined information viewing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20110255116
Abstract: Disclosed is the information viewing system, which makes it possible to speedily output an image represented by data even when an operation for outputting the image onto a predetermined medium is disabled. The system includes an information viewing apparatus, a supporting device to detachably support the information viewing apparatus and the image forming apparatus onto which the supporting device is mountable. The system is so constituted that, in case that a data writing operation onto the printing medium becomes impossible at the time of commencing or in mid-course of implementing the data writing operation onto the printing medium, while the data writing operation onto the information viewing apparatus is enabled, the image forming apparatus changes the writing destination medium from the printing medium to the information viewing apparatus, in order to continuously implement the data writing operation onto the information viewing apparatus instead of the printing medium, and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20050078329
Abstract: An image processing apparatus, an image processing program and an image processing method for forming a composite image by superimposing an overlay image on a base image. When all the CMYK planes in a block of the overlay image have a gray level of 0, the gray levels of all the CMYK planes are set to 0 for the corresponding block. When at least one of the CMYK planes in a block of the overlay image has a gray level not less than 1, the gray level of the other planes, which are 0, are set to an invisible gray level for the corresponding block, and the gray level of the plane, which is not less than 1, is kept for the corresponding block.

  • Patent number: 6760132
Abstract: An image reading apparatus optically reads a document, which is placed on a document platen facing upward, from above. The image reading apparatus has a ultrasonic sensor. A ultrasonic wave is emitted from the ultrasonic sensor toward the document placed on the document platen, and distance from the ultrasonic sensor to the document are detected based on the time differential of the reflected wave from the document. Furthermore, the position of the document can be detected based on the strength or weakness of the reflected wave from the document. In this way the shape of the document in the document height direction can be detected. Moreover, the shape of the document in the document height direction can be accurately detected regardless of the document color.
